Robot Slayer review & Competition

20140113-094313.jpg
Robot Slayer is the idea of Vincent Kamp. It is available as a book and app.
The idea of robotslayer is actually a story that Vince would tell his 3 year old son Leo.

The book is set in comic style with very colourful and illustrative graphics. Many of the book characters are actually based on Vince’s family too. Leo is the robotslayer. Vince is a renegade robot. Vince’s other son Benny is Leo’s robot friend in the story and Vince’s dad also appears as Prof Robotolis. (Vince’s dad also happens to be a real life engineer)

The story is set in a place called Robotolis and has many pictures of giant robots.

I would say the book is mainly aimed towards boys but of course no reason why girls can’t read it too. It’s quite an enjoyable story to read with easy speech bubbles like a cartoon or comic and narration text in blue.

There is of course the Robot Slayer app which is available for iPads.

The app has lots of interactive things going on such as sound effects, lasers and explosions plus a cinematic musical score specially composed for robotslayer. There are also a few games too. The app will certainly keep kids quiet for a while.

Have tweeted as @norwichtony – favourite robot has to be Sonny, from the Will Smith I Robot movie, you do actually develop feeligs towards him, which is terrible in the scheme of things as no doubt the planet will end up going that route eventually and then who knows what this world will be like
