Ozeri Stone Earth Pan

I was contacted by Ozeri to review one of their products. I chose the new Stone Earth Pan.

When the pan arrived the first thing that stood out was the Stonehenge title. It immediately reminded me of a certain place down in Wiltshire and my old hippy type days as a teen. Of course this pan has nothing to do with the Stonehenge monument.
Stonehenge also happens to be the name of the special stone derived coating on this pan. The Stonehenge coating comes from Germany and the coating prevents any harmful toxic substances from being released.
The pan is also thought to be one of the worlds first ever frying pans to achieve non stick perfection as well as remaining free of PFOA, Cadmium and other harmful chemicals and pollutants.

Inside the pan the stone coating can be seen. This coating is a special process and so it is important not to use anything that could damage the pan. Such as sharp utensils or harsh detergents.

From the outset I could tell this was going to be a very good frying pan. First by the weight of it. It is not overly heavy so that it’s impossible to move or carry, but it certainly has some weight to it. Secondly by just picking it up by the handle I can feel just how sturdy it is. There is nothing worse than a pan that wobbles when held by the handle.
Underneath the pan there is a very large metallic plate. This I read is also suitable for induction type hobs. I knew just by looking at this metal plate that the pan was going to heat up and cook very quickly and efficiently and I was not wrong either.

Full instructions came with the pan; explaining the stone coating and the best way to use and cook with the pan to avoid damage.
It is best to first season the pan with a small amount of oil, just enough to create a very thin film, prior to cooking for the first time with it. It is also recommended to use a lower heat setting than other pans as this one is a better conductor of heat and cooks food faster.

So with these useful instructions in hand it was time to fry some steak. And fry it certainly did.

With this pan the steak was cooked much faster than normal. It also cooked very well and evenly both inside and out. There was no food sticking or stuck to the pan at the end and the food tasted great.
The pan is very easy to clean. Just a little warm water and washing up liquid and a gentle rub is all it needed to be clean. Dish washing is not advised for this pan.
The Ozeri pan comes with a warranty.
The pan can be purchased from AMAZON at a reduced price of £24.99.

The pan also comes with a useful pan protector to be used when stacking pans together.

I do love the Ozeri products. My only concern is that we have an aga, so some pans aren’t great at heating up on it, and there’s no real way of changing the heat settings. I have to be quite careful to check what pans are suitable.

I dont have an Aga, but my mum does – she buys her stuff either from Cookoo or Aga Cookshop – might be a bit more expensive, but she says it’s worth it to know that you have stuff that works. Hope this is a help
