BGO Murder Mystery evening

There are many things that I have always wanted to do but never got around to. Kind of like a bucket list.
One of those things on my list is to attend a Murder Mystery event.

One day a few weeks ago an invite popped up in my email box inviting me to a blogger exclusive murder mystery evening. Of course I jumped at the chance with pure excitement.

The evening was hosted by The Murder Mystery conpany who were working with the Bgo company in line with the launch of their brand new game.

The event took place at the Renaissance hotel in Manchester on September 18th.

I was the first to arrive after a short 20 minute train ride. I was a little nervous as this was also a blogger event and I had not been to one before and therefore did not no anyone. I got there at 6.30pm and other bloggers arrived after me. I think there were around 36 bloggers in total. All ladies and very nice people too.

At around 7pm we were shown into a waiting room and greeted with a lovely glass of wine each. I got talking to a few other lovely bloggers and my nerves started to fade.
We were then taken into our room. 3 tables awaited us, all elegantly laid with cutlery and table decorations.

And then there was a murder!
A commotion outside; the dining hall doors fly open; Lord John staggers in. Guests have barely a moment to put down their drinks before he lies dead on the floor. That foul play was responsible is in no doubt. This is a job for Holmes… Sherlock Holmes.

Each table had to work together to solve the murder of Lord John.
We was given evidence files and could request other information such as criminal records, pocket searches, interviews of the 12 suspects.

Our evening also came with a lovely 3 course meal along with coffee and as much wine or soft drinks as we wished. The meal was served durning our investigations and was absolutely delicious. My starter was “Pressed Leven Duck Terrine” followed by “Roast Sirloin of Pennine Beef” then finished off with a lovely sweet “Chocolate brownie and ice cream”

My table (table 2) did not guess correctly despite racking our brains for an hour or so but it was still lots of fun. I cannot tell you who done it or why as these events take place frequently so it would be unfair to cheat ha!
The winning table got the chance to read out their investigations and dress up in some of the suspect costumes at the end of the night.

I had a lovely night and did something I have always wanted to do. The meal was amazing and I enjoyed meeting many other bloggers on my first blogging event.
