This book is illustrated by Lucy Letherland. The very first thing that caught our eye was just how big it is. It’s certainly bigger than most other books and I was expecting just a small thing so was surprised by it’s impressive size of
: 27.2 x 1.5 x 37.8 cm. It also has a fair bit of weight to it with an approximate weight of 1.1 Kg. Therefore plenty of room for lots of facts and pictures.
Next the cover itself, it feels textured almost like some books I had as a child. No awful pointless shiny slip cover just a tough great looking hard cover which really stands out in bold bright yellow.

The atlas starts with a big fun colourful world map spread across 2 pages.

This map shows each continent and animals, transport and activities native to that particular continent.

From then on the book is split into sections with a section and several pages assigned to each continent. It starts with Europe and yes Britain gets a mention too!!!. The pages are beautifully illustrated and many countries are mentioned. There is a lot of information on each page describing country traditions, famous buildings, history, sports, people, animals, costumes and a whole lot more.

The text is easy enough for most 7 year olds too easily read. Paragraphs are kept short with brief but informative explanations throughout. There are lots of things to be spotted and pointed out and at the end of the book is a fun “Can you find” activity.
The book will certainly help with education too. Most lessons incorporate some sort of Geography into them and Ryan and Jordanna will beable to learn a lot from this book such as which animals are native to certain countries and certain traditions etc.

A full index is at the back too for quick reference and help with homework.
Yes I’m sure this will come in handy for Geography homework questions at some point.

Atlas of Adventures has an RRP of £20.00. After some googling I spotted it over on AMAZON for £15.50 with free delivery.

We love good books, both fiction and non-fiction. I must say this atlas looks excellent, especially for younger ones. Thanks for stopping by my blog x
