Annies is Manchester’s hidden gem, carefully tucked away within a minutes walk of the royal exchange theatre, Annies is a stylish eatery which is fast becoming famous for it’s home made traditional British dishes.
A few weeks ago me and a few other North West bloggers were invited to Annies for afternoon tea. I took Izebella and was one of the first to arrive. I was very surprised and happy to be introduced to the lovely Jenny McAlpine who is the owner of Annies and better known for her role as Fizz in Coronation Street. A lovely lady, very friendly and easy to talk to. Izebella seemed to like her too.
Annies is a very family friendly place. The staff were amazingly friendly and offered us both drinks on arrival. There is a very warm and homely feeling at Annies. I have been to a fair few restaurants and cafes but none of them quite feel as cosy as Annies did.
There are two floors and we were all given a guided tour tho spent our afternoon on the ground floor. The furniture is stylish with lots of tables and and even mismatched chairs which just add to the warmth of it all.
Downstairs is a piano. As well as a function room and I absolutely love the flooring, it’s just the type of thing I’d love to have.
Our lovely afternoon tea came on rather posh stands and consisted of some delicious sandwiches and cakes.
I think it’s fair to say that Izebella ate the majority of the cakes and left a lovely mess. Therefore I’m so glad the staff were as friendly as they were.
It was of course lovely to meet up with other bloggers too and have a lovely chat with everyone. I always get nervous when going to blogger events but everyone was really nice.
I can imagine Annies being an amazing place at Christmas.
Me and Izebella had a great afternoon here and will perhaps return in the future, maybe to try something off the menus this time round.
