I’m really keen to get into shape this year. I know I’m not big nor overweight but having 3 children and a by C section really takes it toll on the tummy muscles and I have this awful saggy tummy which I want toning up. I intend to find and join a gym hopefully in the next few months and make it my goal to go at least twice a week. For this of course I will need some new gym clothes and a good pair of running shoes. Well it just so happens that I already have a perfect pair of shoes for the gym.
I was contacted by Sports Shoes and asked if I would like to try out a pair of shoes from their new “Asics”women’s collection. Asics is not a brand I am particularly familiar with at all (maybe because I’m not the most sportiest) but they have actually been around for over 50 years. They sell running shoes, clothing and trainers.
I was given a choice of shoes from a very large selection with all sorts of different styles and colours, each pair with its own features. It did take me a while to choose a pair.
The pair I chose are the ASICS GT-2000 3 WOMEN’S RUNNING SHOES. I think it was the bright colours and design that first caught my eye. I love the deep pink with the red, very girly indeed.
I think they would go well with almost any gym attire which has black, pink or red tones to it somewhere.
Now these shoes come with many clever features, half of which, if I’m being totally honest I am clueless on what it means, but for a sports shoe expert, here’s the list!
- Ideal For – Runners who over-pronate.
- FluidRide 2.0 Midsole – Combines SUPER SpEVA and SUPER SOLYTE for a lighter, yet more adaptable and cushioned ride.
- Clutch Counter – Exoskeletal heel counter offers more support for the foot and counteracts overpronation.
- HOTMELT Overlays – Strategically placed overlays replace stitching to reduce weight and improve the dynamic and static fit.
- Midsole Level – 1mm higher to provide greater comfort in all phases of movement.
- Guidance Line – Women’s specific, vertical flex groove decouples the tooling along the line of progression for enhanced gait efficiency.
- Guidance Trusstic System – Integrates further enhances gait efficiency while providing midfoot structural integrity.
- Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL Cushioning – Helps to attenuate the shock during the impact of the toe-off phases.
- 3M Reflectivity – To keep you safe and visible in low-light conditions.
- AHAR+ – Used in the outsole for further cushioning, durability and ride to the foot.
- I.G.S – Enhances your foot’s natural gait from heel strike to toe-off for a more efficient run.
- ComforDry and Removable Sockliner – To give your foot a cooler, drier, healthier environment.
- Flex Grooves – Newly positioned to optimise the foot’s natural gait pattern.
- Sandwich Mesh Upper – Improves breathability and flexibility.
- Hallux Window – Allows more freedom of movement for the hallux (big toe).
- Discrete Eyelets – Independently placed eyelets disperse lace tension, creating a customized fitting environment and enhanced upper comfort.
- 3m Reflectors – Provides visibility in low light conditions.
- Weight – 305g
- Heel Drop – 10mm (heel height 22mm, forefoot height 12mm)
I was of course very excited to get my new shoes and very eager to try them on. They are very bright and shiny and certainly something that will make my feet stand out from the rest. Even the laces have luminous yellow in them.
When I first put them on, they did feel a little tight and I did wonder if perhaps I needed a bigger size, but no it was just a case of getting used to them and “breaking them in” as its called. After a few days they fit fine and now feel very comfortable to walk, run or exercise in.
Now for the price. They do cost £84.95 on the Sports Shoes website which is by no means cheap. They are obviously designed for a keen sports person in mind, perhaps a keen athlete so they may be worth the price to have something long lasting that fits well and looks good too.
Nice and beautiful sport shoes.
