The Person Controller book review & competition

Book storyline

Fred and Ellie are twins. But not identical (because that’s impossible for a boy and a girl). They do like all the same things, though. Especially video games. Which they are very good at. They aren’t that good, however, at much else – like, for example, football, or dealing with the school bullies.

Then, they meet the Mystery Man, who sends them a video game controller, which doesn’t look like any other controller they’ve ever seen. And it doesn’t control any of their usual games. When the twins find out what it does control, though, it seems like the answer to all their problems. And the key to all their wildest dreams. At least it seems like that…
This is the 2nd book we have received from author David Baddiel. The first book being The Parent Agency which also went down well as a good read for Ryan. Just like The Parent Agency, this book is also aimed at 9-12 year olds.

It’s always difficult to give a real review of kids books because I’m not the one reading it. When I ask what they think of books I usually get “I’ve not read it yet” or “it’s good” so it can be difficult to get real opinions or an idea on the story without having a quick browse through myself. Ryan is part way through and seems to enjoy it. There’s a few images throughout the book which are illustrated by Jim Field.

And my overall view is that it seems a funny read and good enough for younger teenagers and older children.

The book comes released with its own video on You Tube.

It can be purchased over on Amazon currently at just Β£5.00 and more information can be found at the publishers website Harper Collins.
