Le toy van Barbarossa pirate ship & Competition

Sail the seven salty seas with the award-winning Le Toy Van Barbarossa pirate ship and be the envy of all the other little budding buccaneers.
The wooden Barabossa pirate ship was kindly sent to us by The wooden toy shack and this ship currently costs £40.95. The ship is made from wood and requires no batteries. It’s suitable for ages 3 and over.

The ship comes partially assembled with the main body already built.

It does require some assembly in way of poles and flags and screws. Most men would probably assemble this is 10 minutes but it unfortunately took me an hour. One of the flags comes attached to a pole which you have to screw through, the problem being that the cloth flag does not have holes inside it already. The instructions are diagrams without text and therefore can be a little hard to follow so it’s good that the assembly is minimal or I would of been at it for hours.

This is the finished masterpiece.

The flag placement was a little difficult, attaching was easy but you need get each one in a certain position and then the ladders or everything gets tangled or lobsided.

The back of the ship opens up up reveal the under cabin, there’s a wheel and even a cannon with cannon balls. Also an anchor. It’s a great model ship for kids and a good size too – 49 x 48 x 19cms.

The one thing that let this down a little is that no figures are included. They are a separate purchase. This may be disappointing as its not clear on the box that figures don’t come with it and for the price it would be nice to include just one.
