St Helens Farm

Before Christmas I was sent over a lovely hamper containing a selection of dairy products from St Helens Fam. The farm has been around for more than 29 years and specialises in products made from goats milk. The goats of course being on the farm.

Goats milk is very similar to cows milk but seems more suitable for those who suffer from allergies or conditions related to consuming cows milk. Full information on the benefits of goats milk can be found on the website.

My hamper contained 3 cartons of goats milk, which just like the cow variety come as full fat, semi skimmed and skimmed. The milk cartons even bare the same colours as the cow varietys too.

Goats milk can be used exactly the same as cows milk. Of course the first thing I did was try some straight from the carton and I didn’t taste much difference at all to the cows milk which I am more used to. It’s fine for brews and cereal and cooking with.

The goats milk is used to create other dairy products at the farm which I was sent a big selection of. These include butter, hard and soft cheeses, and my favourites- the yoghurts.

I enjoyed all the products. The yoghurts were really delicious and creamy especially the small pots which had added fruit or honey. The big yoghurt pots are great for breakfast and for adding granola or fruit too, one of these being fat free.

I also received some mugs and a small cuddly toy goat which Izebella seems to love.
