Zuru robotoys Finding Dory

To celebrate the newly launched finding Dory movie; Zuru toys have added the Dory characters to their well known line of robotoys.

The characters include Nemo, Marlin, Bailey and Dory herself.

We have Dory and she seems fairly lifelike, size wise; for a fish toy.

Dory comes with batteries pre installed and 3 spare. It’s the cell button batteries which are needed with the robotoys and it’s important to keep them away from younger children and babies.

Dory has no off/on switch but is activated by water. As Dory is a fairly biggish robotoy it does need a large bowl or tank and there needs to be enough water in or she will swim on the side, rather like a dead fish.

Ryan has a plastic bowl from previous versions of water robotoys that he has owned, but it does seem a bit small for Dory as she is certainly bigger. I have no idea if these can be placed into fish bowls or tanks with real fish, I know someone reading this will be wondering so I would say – do so at your own and your fish’s risk. I don’t think they are meant to be permanently kept in water either, this would probably ruin the inside parts. The fish does have a power save mode and switches itself off in water after a minute. It’s easy to get it going again by just tapping or touching it. Once out of the water, it stops moving anyway.

You can see our Dory in action on our video clip.

And also Zurus own video which shows the other finding dory figures in action.

Each Finding Dory robofish character costs £9.99. There is also a coffee pot playset at £19.99.
