Dork Diaries: Puppy Love

Being a fan of the Dork diaries book series means Jordanna gets sent a fair few of them to read. Reading Dork diary instalments usually takes her about a week or so. I’m unsure how many instalments in this series are out but judging by the inside of the front cover; it looks like this may be the 12th one.

Dork diaries is the work of author Rachel Renee Russell. The books being aimed more towards girls than boys and perhaps for girls of Jordannas age and over (8/9 and upwards). The book series follows the adventure of the main character Nikki and her many adventures with family, friends, school and even enemies.

“When the animal shelter Brandon volunteers at is too full to take a litter of abandoned puppies, Nikki decides to look after them until the shelter has more room. Simple. There’s only one slight problem…her parents won’t allow dogs in the house so Nikki has to hide them at home and take them to school in secret. But with seven puppies to hide, things are going to get messy…Is Nikki’s plan going to end in a pawfully dorky disaster? “

The books are made to look like an actual diary of a young girl, with date and time entries, line spaces and many sketches and doodles making them very easy to read. Also readers don’t have to start from book one to follow the storyline as they are easy to from any book.

This new instalment has an RRP of £6.99 from most book stores and Amazon. Published by Simon and Schuster.
