I’m starting the week off with one of my favourite and regular subscription boxes which of course is the Degustabox. The big box of foodie surprises delivered to doorsteps all over the UK for just £12.99 per month and no extra cost for shipping.
This most recent box contained a varying assortment of items. The first thing to be consumed was the big bag of Seabrooks Lattice crisps. This was a nice sized share bag containing chunky cross cross style crisps in a sea salt & black pepper flavour.
Plenty more snack items in this box too, such as these Whitworths: full of super!
Vanilla maca-roon health balls. These are not usually something I would go for but they are surprisingly good.
Then a few packs of Nothing but. I’ve had these a few times. I was glad to find the fruit snacks as opposed to the dried vegetable variety which I just don’t get at all. They are what they say on the packets and that is simply – freeze dried fruit slices. They even count towards the recommended 5 a day fruit.
Here’s quite a strange one – Doisy & Dams: Quinoa, smoked tea and vanilla chocolate.
Yes you heard that right. The chocolate is thick and chunky but this flavour jusr did not sit right with my pallette at all, it almost tasted like smoked bacon flavour chocolate and it just does not taste so good.
New York Delhi – brings me nuts, hog chilli VIP nuts that is.
Also – Polo sugar free pack- my son pinched and ate these before I could snap an individual photo but polos it seems now come in little tubs as well as the packets and are now sugar free so kinder to teeth. I don’t like mints or mint flavours so was happy to let my son have them.
“And something for the cupboard”
Dorset cereal – One from the ultimate adventures range of breakfast cereals. It’s essentially muesli with Brazil nuts, berries and coffee! Maybe my girls will like it as I’m not a cereal person, in fact I haven’t eaten breakfast at all in decades.
Pasta from Garofalo. Obviously Italian and penne type pasta tubes. This should come in useful for a nice bolognaise or tuna pasta dish.
Good hemp? – I do occasionally come across food items that I have absolutely no idea what it is or what to do with it and this is one of them. Hemp seed hearts??? I’m clueless but the packet says for baking, topping and sprinkling and they have a nutty type flavour.
“And the drinks”
Just two drinks this month one being organic lager from a company called Celia organic. No lager drinkers in my house so I can’t comment on that one.
And finally from Fentimans; the well known company for those traditional old fashioned looking glass bottles of pop and alcohol. It’s a pink grapefruit tonic water. This I think is intended as a mixer with the likes of gin or vodka etc, but I just couldn’t resist a good old mouthfuls of it by itself. It’s very sweet but refreshingly good.
Aprils box did seem to be themed towards more healthy products with lots of organic, and sugar free products. It’s a mixed feeling box this month. Some products I liked, others I did not. The products I don’t use get passed to friends and family.
Degustabox is usually £12.99 a month. However they currently have an offer on for jusr £5.99 a box meanings big £7.00 off. You can find more details about this offer on their website.
