JYSK is celebrating its 2,500th store internationally. To mark the occasion, the Scandinavian furniture retail store group that sells everything for the home aims to find out what makes us happy at home. I’m going to be reviewing some of the Danish home expert’s Scandi-vibe items as part of its ‘Feel the Happiness’ campaign and have partnered JYSK with a great competition for you too.
You’ll find JYSK in 48 countries with 15 stores in the UK and sells online at www.JYSK.co.uk. From furniture including bed frames, wardrobes, mattresses and sofas to soft furnishings like cushions and decorative accessories – a whole house can easily be furnished with JYSK.
JYSK is expert in HYGGE – “the Scandi art of making your home make you happy”. HYGGE (pronounced Hugar) focuses on cosiness, comfort and making time and space for relaxation and interaction with friends and family.
JYSK has one main question for this campaign; so I’ll be asking you to enter the competition and share….
“What makes you happy at home?”
JYSK’s aim is to arrive at the top 25 things that people love, that make them happy, at home. By this they mean the little HYGGE type things such as throws, a comfy mattress, a nice chair or cheerful cushions rather than the big things such as family, pets and love.
I am of course taking part in this campaign along with a select few bloggers across the UK. The campaign will involve me featuring several JYSK products and even attempting to assemble the odd few (that should be fun to watch!). And the best bit for all my lovely readers and followers –is that amazing competition which will start Monday October 2nd!
I don’t want to give too much away but this will be for a JYSK furniture product and may just be my largest giveaway so far.
Yes it’s all very exciting and I cannot wait to see the JYSK range in my own home.

Last weekend I took my children to Play Factore which is a five minute walk from the Trafford centre and located right next to Chill Factore.
Play Factore is a massive play zone for kids. It’s huge and has so much going on. If you’re a parent then you are no doubt already familiar with kids play areas with slides and soft play etc, but Play Factore is so much more.
The climbing and slide area is massive. Izebella dragged me on there and climbing to the top is pretty tiring.
My children loved this part but often took breaks from it to try out other activities such as these cars and Go Karts!
For food and drink there is a cafe which sells pizzas, pasta, hot and cold drinks and sweet treats.
Kids can spend ages in just this part alone with lots of tunnels, slides of many sizes and the odd swing here and there.
These come included in the all inclusive price as does the laser tag room which is also lots of fun. Each player gets their own laser shooter and time in the laser room.
Younger kids under 5 have their own separate toddler area.
Play Factore even have a huge dance arena where kids can boogy away with the Play Factore dance crew at weekends. It has cool disco lights and pumping tunes. This area also hosts many acts and performances throughout the year.
For an extra charge there is also a zip wire.
Play Factore price for children 5 and over is £11.95 each with adult price being £3.95.
If you’re a big family it is probably best to look out got offers and discount vouchers. Play time is two hours.
More information at Play Factore.

They also have their online store too so you don’t even have to leave the house to find that perfect gift this Christmas.
Have you heard of Feisty Pets? You may have seen them on an advert or advertised online.
They start off looking like regular cute furry soft toy pets. However they also have an unusual angry demonic side too.
This cute little kitty is our very own Princess Pottymouth. That’s her name, and the name she came with. Now our little princess is so fluffy and look at those big sad eyes! Tho don’t be fooled by them, she’s not quite as sad and cute as she first looks.
Princess Pottymouth has her own personality and likes and dislikes. She likes prowling and pranking, she’s fairly lazy as she always enjoys sleeping in. She hates fairies and valentines and doesn’t like people much either, just watch her in action in our video.
She needs no batteries to turn angry, and she and her friends cost £19.99 each. Suitable for 3 years and over. May be slightly scary for very young children.

Today I want to share something personal. It’s the elephant in the room that no one wants to mention but happily talks behind my back about. The thing that let me down as a child, the thing that lets me down in job interviews. It’s the elephant in the room.
And no not that guy.
It’s my speech disorder, my lisp, the thing that makes my S sounds come out differently to others.
Yes it bothers me, yes it knocks my confidence but I now feel it’s time to talk about it as I’m not the only one suffering with a speech impediment. It’s on the same level as a stammer or stutter. We get laughed like kids in the playground, yet would the same people laughing also laugh at a wheelchair user? No of course not because that’s wrong. Well so is laughing or judging someone on speech.
I was clever at school, finished with a A in performing arts followed by B and C grades for the rest of the subjects including Maths and English and have also completed Lang high level computer courses.
Yes my parents put me though months of speech therapy but for some reason it just did not work. I have no idea if this is available to adults too
Working as a dancer in my younger days was easy, of course I didn’t need to speak. But getting other jobs isn’t as easy. Who is going to employ someone in customer service if you don’t talk the same as others?
I want to share my video, so next time you see me if you know me, please think before you judge somebody.
Last season – Summer (or at least what we had of it) I reviewed a lovely comfortable pair of sandals from Strive footwear. Those sandals have been worn many times, unfortunately the poor sandals now have to go away to the land of shoe box for a few months as the awful colder weather and Autumn creeps in.
Lucky for me, a new pair of Strive shoes arrived to take their place. This time it’s a pair of Bamford boots. What lady doesn’t love her boots at this time of year? And especially so on a frosty morning when we have to leave for the school run or work. Us ladies and busy mums need a comfortable pair of boots in the colder weather to keep our feet warm and dry.
A real benefit of wearing Strive footwear is the instant comfort in my feet. Usually a new pair of shoes or boots takes a real toll on my sensitive feet and I end up enduring a week or two of aches and blisters whilst I get used to them. But not with Strive shoes.
Strive footwear is made using special technologies that make the usual flat footbed contour to actual dimensions of the feet. This reduces the stress and improves foot posture meaning less aches and soreness.
The boots each have two zips either side, and are very easy to slip on and off. They are a really simple boot design without heel. They keep my feet dry in the rain and warm enough when it’s cold.
I can wear them with pants, jeans, or a winter dress and tights. Black is one of two colour options, the other being charcoal grey. I think black goes with pretty much anything but the grey probably would too.
The boots cost £94.95 and are sold directly via the Strive website. This is quite a fair amount to shell out for one pair of boots, but if you do buy them then you certainly won’t regret paying that much as they really do provide maximum comfort.
I’m giving More Vits drinks another mention today, one of the reasons being is that many schools seem to be getting tough on the contents of children’s packed lunch bags. This is understandable with the increasing obesity and dental problems in young children recently. One of the main causes of dental cavities, fillings and extractions in young children is sugary drinks which also contributes to early years obesity.
I rarely let my children have drinks such as Coca Cola, only as a treat every now and again. I tend to buy the no added sugar juices. Obviously it would be amazing if they stuck to just water and milk but that’s just not going to happen.
The More Vits drinks are a healthier choice. They are sugar free and it’s just flavoured spring water at just the right level of sweetness.
Not only that but each drink contains different vitamins which our bodies need. The red bottle for kids , as an example is full of vitamin D which supports bone growth. Each colour is a different flavour and contains different vitamins. More information about the vitamins can be found on the website – Get More Vits.
The drinks are made for both adults and children, both fizzy and still varieties and come in small and large bottle sizes. The drinks can be purchased from most large supermarkets as single bottles and multipacks. These will be fine for school packed lunch bags too and they also make a much healthier refreshing alternative to people like myself who drink too much unhealthy fizzy stuff.
My gorgeous girls have yet again passed their twice yearly exams and got their awards! Very proud mummy!
Appy kids co have lots of lovely fruity drinks for children. The drinks are a perfect size for school lunch bags, or for taking on day trips.
There new drinks come in character themed pouches with lots of fruity flavours such as apple, orange, mixed berry and multi fruit. These pouches come in boxes of 5 and include straws.
Paw patrol, Dora, and turtles and just a few characters that appear on these drinks. Each drink combines water with fruit juices to give a refreshing sweet drink that is low in sugars.
These drinks can be purchased from most supermarkets.
Anyone who enjoys a good old bag of crisps will love a bag of slabs.
Slabs are mammoth sized crisps. Not only are they big in size but they are also very thick too. Not as thick as wedges but they certainly pack some chunkiness compared to the rest.
These are like big chunky man sized crisps. The sort you could imagine a group of men on a building site happily tucking into. Of course anyone can eat them and they are also full of awesome flavour too.
There are five flavours in total to choose from, so a bit of something for everyone. Most of the flavours being based around more traditional crisp flavours such as the mature cheddar and onion and the salt & malt vinegar. For those who don’t like the flavoured crisps there is a sea salt variety too. My favourite being sweet red chilli.
Two packet sizes – a 40g single serve and the larger 80g bag for the greedy gets! I think the larger may be meant for sharing?
As these crisps are so big and thick, the way a crisp should be, it means hardly any crumbs. The odd chipped off chunky broken bits maybe but no small crumbs at the bottom of the packet with these.
Slabs are a very new product so are only available to buy in a few select stores at the moment. They are available to trade via the slabs website and will be on display at various foodie fares and shows across the country. I am hoping the crisps will appear in local stores or supermarkets in the near future.
