This week my children all returned to school for the new school year. They had everything they needed and I was left with a big hole in my bank balance. I was lucky to have some help along the way with some school essentials.
My children all have a waterproof jacket from Regatta. We only live five minute walks away from both the primary and secondary school. It’s a good thing as it means if it’s cold, they don’t have far too walk so they don’t really need to take big thick coats at the moment. Just something light to keep them dry.
Ryan, who now fits in small men’s sizes has a small mans Pack it jacket in black coating £30.
This being waterproof and breathable, the hood adjusts and secures around his neck, preventing any rain from seeping in and ensuring maximum rain and storm protection. It has 2 large pockets, one of which it folds up into. Once folded it looks like a Once folded it looks like a little camping type sac. Great for putting inside a school bag. He can forget it’s in there as it’s very lightweight and when the rain comes, simply pull it out, put on and keep dry.
Jordanna has a similar type of jacket too, in that hers also folds away into a bag. Her Pack it Jacket arrived folded in the bag.
It is very similar to Ryan’s jacket but with a raindrop pattern instead and also costs £30.
The material on this jacket is really stretchy giving her lots of room to move her arms as well as growing. It has 2 deep pockets, a snug hood plus reflective trim which helps with getting seen a little better on dark evenings.
Regatta even have a few bags suitable for the new school year too.
The Brize rucksack is 20 litre and costs £16.95. It’s a bit smaller than what I expected but still holds all of Ryan’s bits. The Zephyr duck is a bright yellow novelty bag. Big enough for a big kid starting big school for the first time. This costs just £6.25 so a bit of a bargain find.
