Well Paddington 2 was released on dvd and Blu-Ray today. The movie was a number one box office smash hit sequel.
The star cast includes Hugh Grant and Brendan Gleeson joining the returning cast of Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Bonville and Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington.
Everyone knows that Paddingtons favourite food is marmalade. He absolutely loves the sweet sticky stuff doesn’t he? Well we were sent a lovely bag of goodies which included the new movie plus lots of Paddington themed goodies and even a small tub of marmalade and a breakfast set that Izebella seemed to fall in love with straight away.
Well little Izebella decided she had to have her marmalade on toast so that’s what she got.
Now that’s a little boring but I guess Paddington likes it too, however I thought we needed to be a bit more adventurous off this tub of marmalade so I did come up with this!
I’d heard of Americans adding maple syrup to bacon sandwiches and all sorts of other sweet & strange things so I decided to add marmalade to mine! I used a whole grain malted loaf with smoked streaky bacon and a good few dollops of the orange stuff. I know people will be reading this and thinking yuk! Or that it’s gross etc. It actually tasted okay, a strange combination maybe but the smokiness and saltiness of the bacon combined with the bitter sweetness of the marmalade actually made an alright combo, although I don’t think it’s really something that I will be making on a regular basis.
