Bananagrams is a popular word game similar to scrabble but without the playing board. The aim of the game being to make words with lettered tiles and score the highest points.
My first banagrams is almost identical to the original game.
The tiles all come in a handy banana pouch storage case. There is no board and the tiles are a similar size. The only difference being is that this version is for younger children and those who are learning to read.
Some of the tiles come doubled up as phonics which is how primary school children are taught to read. Such as ee and un will be together.
There are a few ways this can be played to suit the age level. It can be played similar to the original game or an easier way. The aim of the game stays the same, it’s all about making words out of the tiles.
This game is suitable for ages 4 and up and can be played by both children and adults. Izebella loves showing off and making her new words out of the tiles. It’s the perfect game to help with reading and spelling and it takes up literally no space at all.
Prices between £12-£20 at most good toy stores.
