When it comes to footwear, every year, brings a new trend. For 2019, the biggest trend is ankle boots. They are everywhere you look, which is great because it will not be hard to find the perfect pair for you.
For example, the online retailer Fashion World provides a choice of more than 550 different pairs. Importantly, they also sell wide and super wide fittings. Here is a roundup of the main ankle boot trends, with a few ideas of how you might like to wear them.
Cowboy boots
Now these are not strictly speaking ankle boots, but they are such a huge trend that it would be remiss of me not to mention them here. Besides which, you can actually buy cut down versions that are nearly as short as a pair of ankle boots would be.
This style of boot works best when worn with jeans, cords or something similar. But, you are going to notice some women wearing them with long flowing dresses. This is only works because some shoe designers have taken the time to give this timeless classic something of a makeover. Some of them have used softer leather and removed the embellishment on the body of the boot, but kept the cowboy boot silhouette. The result is a refreshingly different looking boot, that is very stylish, sophisticated even.
French Heels
If you want something that looks slightly different, yet is still sophisticated, French heels are for you. It has been decades since they were last in fashion. So, it may be tricky to work out how to wear them, at least at first. The best approach is to wear them with a pair of smart trousers.
Pull-zip boots
It is great to see designers having a bit of fun with the ankle boot concept. One of the biggest trends of 2019 looks set to be the pull zip boot. The bold wide zips which feature large and interestingly styled sliders look fantastic. If you are looking for something with a bit of a punky vibe, these could be the boots for you.
Fabric boots
The fabric boots trend may take a while to take off simply because, currently, it is too wet for them to be a practical option. But, when it warms up a bit and we have fewer rainy days, I suspect you will see a lot of women wearing them. Whether you opt for a fabric or corduroy pair they will look great when worn with a pair of jeans or plain trousers. Although, if you can get the colouring right they could just as easily be worn with a nice long dress.
