I’m not vegan myself but, having tried many many food products over the past few years; I can certainly say that vegan food has somewhat improved over the years. Gone are the days of bland tastes and limited expensive options. These days those who choose the vegan path even get to eat cake! And good tasting cake at that.
OGGS cakes will be landing in most UK supermarkets at the beginning of June. They come in a box of four, a little bigger than your standard cupcake and in four mouth watering options. Choose from Victoria sponge, zesty lemon, salted caramel and chocolate fudge.
I got a box of four with one of each cake to try. Unfortunately my kids also spotted this box meaning I didn’t get a full cake to myself, more small bites and crumbs of them.
Now if you’re not a vegan, you may be put off by the idea of cake and even cream not being dairy and may think it will affect the overall taste, but no; these cakes taste just like any other cake, so much so that you would not realise they are vegan unless someone told you.
Instead of being made with dairy or animal produce, the cakes are totally plant based. I’ve no idea how they get them to taste so good but they do.
Sainsbury’s and Waitrose will be launching the cakes first starting June 2nd. They will be priced from approximately £2.20.
are they gluten free as well by any chance. I think it is past time where cake companies make vegan ranges available not just for people who choose that way of life but also for us people with allergies.
I often eat vegan food even though I am not vegan. I love the sound of these cakes. I will be looking out for them x
