There’s every chance that you spent the last few months sitting outside in the garden, basking in the sunshine and enjoying the heat. Sitting out to sunbathe in the summer sun while the children play outside is exciting. It’s a wonderful way to relax, and it’s your own personal piece of paradise that you pay for with your mortgage every month. The problem is, you may not be taking enough advantage of the space that you’ve got and enjoying the outdoors a little more.
That being said, you may not have the space to be able to call up the swimming pool installers right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t expand your space as you go. Transforming your garden into something beautiful is probably something you’ve already done, but there are some luxuries that you can add to your garden to really change your life. With that in mind, here are our suggestions to transform your garden.
- Add some gym equipment. One of the first things that you can do to transform your garden is to add more decking or a larger patio and add an outdoor gym. If you are fortunate enough to live somewhere where the sunshine is out all year round, you gain a sense of freedom. Instead of being self-conscious in front of people in the gym environment, you can bring outside your yoga mat and your Pilates bands, and you can follow along with the workout. With your iPad, you could even lift weights. You might not consider plugging in a treadmill outside, but you can still go and enjoy free weights out there.
- Make it more natural. You might consider that your current garden embodies an extended outdoor living space. But how is it going for nature’s sake? If you like the idea of having wildlife in your garden, then you might consider adding a bird bath. Or you could look at encouraging other wildlife such as hedgehogs and bugs into your garden by creating bug hotels and areas that are perfect for them within your flower beds. It’s also a great hobby to get the kids involved with.
- More lighting. As the summer is now closing off, you may want to spend more time in your garden in the evening having barbecues and bonfires. You can embrace the garden at night time and it’s easier to do when you have more lighting out there. Whether you have solar panels to help you with that or not, or you simply want to install a couple of lamp posts, adding some lighting to your garden in the evening allows you somewhere to sit outside and really enjoy yourself.
- Invest in some new furniture. The last thing that you should do to transform your garden is to really put your money where your mouth is and invest in good comfortable furniture that will stay sturdy through all seasons.
These tips will give you a chance to really enjoy your garden!
