Making the most of your store

If your shop has a physical store that goes beyond a Shopify or Etsy set up, you’ll want to do everything possible to get it noticed and bring the customers through the front door. A brick and mortar location is only as successful as the online presence that you give it, but there are so many ways that you can maximize your shop so that people take one look and want to come inside. So, let’s take a closer look at the ways that you can make the most of your store and earn that crust.

  1. Make sure that people can see it. The first way that you can make the most of your store is to ensure that people can see it in the first place. It’s vital that you get that perspex sign cut so that people can see your store from a distance as they walk down the street. You want to be able to showcase what you offer and signage is your way of doing that. With a brick and mortar store, you have to be obvious about what you’re doing to attract the right people.
  2. Offer discounts. In a cost of living crisis, everyone loves a bargain, which means that you will do very well if you are going to save people money. Whatever it is you’re selling, look at ways that you can offer discounts or loyalty vouchers to customers so that they can feel like you care about what they want and need. Shops that offer discounts will always pull in the custom and the word of mouth should help from there.
  3. Offer classes. A good thing about what you do is the fact that you can teach others! So, if you’re running a bakery, teach people how to make bread and other delicious options. If you’re running a store that sells kitchen wares, get someone in to teach other people how to use their knives properly. You can offer classes on pretty much anything you sell but you have to know where to start.
  4. Make the shop look pretty. The right ambience makes all the difference to the experience that your customers have. Whether it’s shopping online or shopping in stores, people want to see pretty things. Think about the layout of the shop, the ease of movement through the aisles and where you plan to place all of your discounted things. When you do that, you’re going to show that you know how to capture the eye of the audience. Don’t rush this process and bring in a store designer to help.
  5. Consider the customer service that you offer. You want to make a point of giving the best possible customer service because this is going to be your biggest ticket to helping others. You want people talking about you and saying only positive things, so ensure that you give them an experience that they will want to talk about to their friends, family and on their social media.
