Yes it’s winners time again!
Ready Brek – Frances Hopkins
Warmies – Caroline Upton
Towel shop – Helen Stratton
I’m sure most of us parents who grew up in the 1980s/90s will remember these!
I loved and still love choc nibbles. If you don’t remember them, then maybe you just didn’t get out much. The best way to describe them is like a mixture of soft caramel, mixes with choc lick (another old favourite) and maybe a bit of ground biscuit and something else, then coated with chocolate and made into little sticks which taste delicious.
It’s a shame how most corner shops have changed over the years, I loved looking at all the plastic sweet jars behind shop counters frantically browsing for the choc nibs.
Although the shops may have changed and the majority of the cheap sweets in big jar memories are long gone, I am happy to say that Choc Nibbles are still around and here to stay.
You see I have discovered a place on the internet that loves those old fashioned chocolate sweets just as much as I do, it’s even called Choc nibbles. Their tasty treats aren’t available via the website but their are several stockists around the UK, including one just a few minutes away from me.
The choc nibs can be purchased as jars or in bags or from sweet shops by measure.
I never understood what exactly a quarter was, which we all would ask for as kids. A quarter of what exactly? Who knows but it was always a pretty big paper bag full.
These taste just like I remember. It is possibly the only thing that hasn’t changed about the nibbles over the years.
They also make a slightly different variety too.
These are similar in taste but appear to have been a little jazzed up with an extra shiny chocolate coating giving them a smoother and brighter appearance. Thus less cocoa powder on the hands like the original version.
They do a few other versions of chocolate nibbles too such as toffee crumble nibbles and a Jammie version too. Also original choc lick, remember the chocolate dust stuff in white paper bags, that we dipped wet fingers in and licked off? Then by the time half had gone the bag got soggy and we ended up with chocolate dust all over our white tops! Oops!!
I have two bags of choc nibbles to give away. If you want to win them then just click the link!
The giveaway is for two bags of choc nibbles and will close on July 3rd 2017.
Izebella absolutely loves these strange rubbery type tiny figures, in fact I have had to upgrade her to a larger storage box to keep them all in or otherwise I would be finding odd Num Nom bits all over.
It seems that with every new series of Num Noms, new parts are introduced as well of course as characters and themes which are all based around food items.
Series 3 bought with it Num Nom lights too which are a completely new series all on there own including light ups, glitter and even freezie pop Num Noms
They are called Num Noms because of the two parts – The num and the Nom. I can’t recall which one is which but one of them is the rubbery textured soft part and the other part is the one that does something, this can be a moving part, a stamper, rubber, lip gloss etc. They keep coming with new quirky things.
Here are some of our latest series 3.
Oyster Skincare is a new premium skincare brand. Their products are a blend potent skin enhancing actives with precious mood enhancing essential oils.
One of their products is this Brightening eye serum which can be purchased for £14.99 on Amazon.
I turn a big 40 years old tomorrow and although I don’t really look my age and certainly don’t feel it; there are a few tell tale signs on my face that show some ageing. Head lines are one and darkness under my eyes is another. Others don’t really notice these things but I do when I look in a mirror.
This beauty product contains a blend of good stuff including – Hyaluronic Acid, Co-Enzyme Q10, Pentapeptides, Green tea, cucumber, flower extracts and lots of other good stuff. Many of these ingredients have been scientifically proven to help with lines, wrinkles and other anti ageing features. Hyaluronic Acid it contains helps to smooth the skin whilst being very hydrating. Pentapeptides and Co-Enzyme Q10 are both great for anti-aging too.
The serum is a fairly thick clear liquid which looks a bit like clear gel. I apply under and around my eyes, taking care not to put any inside my actual eye. The first thing I noticed when applying the product is just how cool it felt on my eyes. It’s an instant nice cooling sensation followed by a slight tightness. It absorbs into the boxes skin within about 30 seconds with a slight stickiness which dissolves soon after.
If you want to try this yourself you can purchase via Amazon, or have a go at winning yourself one in my giveaway below.
Oyster skin care are giving away one 30ml bottle of their brightening eye serum worth £14.99.

Seventh Generation began across the Atlantic in the USA and are fairly new to the UK. Their items include household products for laundry and cleaning and are designed for people with skin allergies, eczema and other skin conditions.
In our house it’s my eldest daughter Jordanna who seems to randomly suffer with an array of undiagnosed skin problems. These include general skin dryness where patches of skin will feel rough like sandpaper, various sensitivities which the rest of us seem to be immune too (i.e flea bites) and random rashes and spots that appear from time to time. We just don’t know why or what causes any of it, except that her skin appears to be sensitive to many things. I can only guess that certain types of soaps, bath products, laundry detergents and household cleaners add to her skin problems so it can often be difficult to know what to use.
The products from Seventh Generation are made without the usual harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrances which can irritate skin. There are no dyes or artificial brighteners so the majority of the cleaning/laundry products will be fragrance free and colour free or clear liquids.
Their packaging is made from 100% recycled bottles making the products kinder to the environment as well as the skin.
These are the products which I have been using recently, all of which are available to buy in Tesco. I have two big laundry liquids.
Both of these do similar jobs – wash the clothes. There is not too much difference between them. They are both clear and free of dyes and fragrance. The differences being that the one on the left is super concentrated meaning I don’t need to use as much to wash clothes and it’s also much better on tougher stains such as chocolate, tomato, pizza and even blood. This one also comes in an unsusal container which looks a lot like cardboard on first glance. It’s actually repurposed fibre. This bottle can apparently be used as a plant starter once the liquid has gone.
Seventh Generation also sent me two of their household cleaning products.
Again probably not much difference between the two. The green one is an all purpose cleaner meaning I can use it pretty much anywhere. The lack of harsh chemicals make it safer, not just for skin but for my furnishings which can become stained or damaged if using incorrect products. The all purpose cleaner is fine for kitchens, bathrooms, doors, window ledges and pretty much anywhere else that needs a clean, baby items included. There is however a picture of a cooker on the front of the bottle which may be slightly misleading. This product is fine for cleaning my hob and the cooker exterior but I don’t think it is strong enough to clean inside the oven properly. Unfortunately I still need to use the very nasty stuff for that job.
The blue cleaner on the right is more for glass products and surfaces. I have white units in my living room and a few mirrors around my home so this is a good product to get them clean and shiny without the awful cleaning smells.
My final two products are a natural washing up liquid and natural toilet cleaner.
For those of us who don’t normally suffer from sensitive skin problems (myself included) have your hands ever itched, stung or felt slightly sore or dry after washing dishes? I know mine have a few times. I actually put it down to the water being too hot or not drying them correctly but I am now fairly sure that it’s the chemicals in the washing liquids, no matter how mild that cause the slight irritation.
This natural free washing liquid does exactly the same job as all the other dish washing products and that is get the dishes clean. It still forms bubbles and still cuts through grease and tough dish and pan stains, even oven dishes. It just comes without the scent and added colour.
The toilet cleaner is one of the products that does come with a slight scent. I suppose it has to really given that part of cleaning a toilet is also making it smell good rather than of what usually goes in it (YUK). The fragrance – Cypress and Fir is made purely from essential oils and botanical extracts. It smells totally different from the usual heavy bleach toilet cleaners, it can still cause skin irritation if it gets directly onto skin (as with most products) but is much safer than most other toilet cleaners.
All of these products can be bought in Tesco. I am hoping they will bring in more of the range of products to the UK soon as the USA does have a bigger selection.
Seventh Generation are giving away two baskets full of their products (as above) to two lucky readers. Yes you get the basket too!
The giveaway will close on June 27th and 2 winners will be drawn at random. Entrants must be UK based and have valid working Facebook, twitter and email accounts.
I love the feel of brand new towels on my face and skin and I have a brand new towel bundle from The towel shop uk.
I have the luxurious 6 piece bamboo towel bundle. They are (I think) called the bamboo bundle because they are made from 50% bamboo and 50% cotton.
Six colour choices in total to match most bathroom decor. I chose cream which go well with pretty much anything. Other colours include white, charcoal grey and kingfisher which is a green/blue colour.
The six piece bundles include 2x face cloths, 2x hand towels, 1 bath towel and 1 bath sheet. Other bundles are available with more or less towels such as 4, 5, 10 and 12 piece and the towels can be purchased individually.
The 6 piece bundle costs £33.54 inc VAT (£27.95 without)
These towels are lovely, very soft and fluffy and large in size. I have seen similar sized hand towels to the face cloths in this bundle. The towels also have some weight to them, tho not heavy but I can certainly feel the quality.
The towel shop also sell luxury bath robes available in one size and a choice of four colours. Again these are really good. I instantly felt warm when I put mine on for the first time after a bath. It is very comfy with lots of room, nice big sleeves and a deep pocket for a phone or bath accessories.
I have made a video with the gown on and showing the towel bundle (ignore my wet hair and the legs ha)
Yes this is your chance to win a prize from the towel shop.
There is a choice of prize for one winner and the choices are…
• 4 piece bamboo towel bale (1 face cloth, 1 hand towel, 1 bath towel, 1 bath sheet)
• 1 Luxury dressing gown
The winner can choose either prize in a choice of colour (dependent on stock availability)

(This giveaway will close on June 13th 2017. It will run for a total of 14 days and one winner will be chosen at random by rafflecopter. We’re Going on a Bear Hunt is heading to breakfast tables nationwide thanks to a new promotion with Ready Brek. The promotion will begin this weekend and run throughout June and July.
Ready Brek will be inviting kids and families to create their very own bear hunt featuring fun activity ideas to try at home on their packs.
Ready Brek has been around for years and is full of good stuff including Calcium, Vitamin D, Protein and Fibre. It is one of the UK’s most popular breakfast choices when it comes to serving up instant oat goodness.
We’re going on a bear hunt has also been around for many years with a selection of books, stories and animated programmes.
And of course bears and porridge are well known to work together as everyone remembers the story of Goldilocks and the three bears and all the porridge eating.
It is the start of a two week half term break for us. As the weather is surprisingly very good, we may as well make the most of it. So after a warm nutritious healthy bowl of ready break it’s time to get out and about on our own mini bear hunts!
Okay yes I know, the chances of seeing bears in Bolton are literally zero but there are plenty of other smaller creatures to spot up this way and have lots of fun whilst doing so and really just being outside in the sunshine rather than stuck on tablets inside.
We have a few parks close by which are great for walking around, looking at things, searching for certain plants or bugs and spotting squirrels and rabbits etc. As well as having fun on swings and slides.
Ready brek are giving away a prize bundle which will consist of 2 boxes of Ready brek cereal and 2 new bear hunt books.
My Explorers Journal – This book works well with the field guide and allows young explorers to record their journeys. Write down and record things they spotted etc.
All this can be won by simply clicking the entry button below.
This giveaway will close on June 10th 2017. Prize as above consists of two books and boxes of ready brek cereal.
I love receiving bouquets of fresh pretty flowers. Unfortunately I don’t really have anyone to buy me them as I on my own. So.. I had a very big smile on my face when a very nice courier turned up on my doorstep holding these for me.
This beautiful bouquet was sent to me by FloraQueen who deliver flowers in the UK and internationally. They have many different bouquets to choose from, both big and small to suit most price budgets.
I chose a bouquet of lillies, roses and gerberas. I’m glad I did as it really is beautiful. I have had many visitors saying how much they like the new flowers.
FloraQueen guarantees that all their flowers stay fresh for at least 7 days. I am now on my 4th day and they are still looking great. I think the sun and heat may be helping a little, plus the frequent water top ups.
FloraQueen also sell a selection of gifts and offer fast delivery and a choice of delivery dates. Yes you can also add a card to the bouquets too.
And if you want to win yourself a bouquet from FloraQueen then enter below.
FloraQueen are giving away a bouquet of flowers to my winning reader. To be in with a chance of winning, just click the Enter button below to be taken to the entry page.
