Winter wonderland Manchester

Published December 10, 2016 by Bizzimummy

It’s here once again, yes Winter wonderland has landed at Event city and officially opens to the public today. With lots of rides, shows, and stalls there is something for all the family.

Last night we attended the charity night and we all had an amazing time. This is our 3rd year attending and the best so far. Lots of new additions including a lovely walk through grotto done up as Santas house. I won’t say much about that but I think it’s fair to say it’s probably one of the best grottos I have taken my children to so far.

The shows included Basil brush, Cinderella and the new Jedi. There were many more stalls and new food outlets. The Xmas hot barms are especially good.

And now for some photos to show you all the amazing time we had last night.

And our santa visit!

Tickets cost £19.50 each per adult and child. Children under 3 go free. Included in ticket price are all the rides, shows, beach sand pit, character meet & greet and children can visit santa free but gifts and photographs are optional paid extras. The stalls and food are not included in the price.
There are many options for food.Expect to pay about £4.50 per burger or hot dog, £3.00 per tray of chips, and £2.00 for a bottle of pop.

Most game stalls such as hook a duck cost £2-£3 per go. If you have a large family this can get expensive.

Event city is located next to the Trafford centre. For directions and opening times see the website where tickets can also be purchased.

Now you can “Find Dory” in London

Published August 3, 2016 by Bizzimummy

To celebrate the new Finding Dory movie, Highlight PR are running a Finding Dory hide and seek game in London on Thursday 4th August and everyone is welcome. It’s a shame it’s a little too far for us to attend.

100 Aquabeads Finding Dorys will be hidden in popular locations around London on the day and lucky winners who find Dory will be in the running to win a family holiday to Disneyland Paris for two adults and two children. There will only be 100 hidden Dory and Nemos so that’s a 1 in 100 chance to win for those lucky enough to find one of the hidden Aquabeads creations.

Hints and tips for finding the creations will be posted to the @AquabeadsUK Twitter profile. For a chance to win users will have to find a Finding Dory creation and tweet a pic of their find to @Aquabeadsuk with the hashtag #FindingAquabeads.

Locations will all be key London landmarks – and there’s an incredible prize up for grabs!

Our Pep & Co shopping trip

Published June 3, 2016 by Bizzimummy

Up until last week, I had never heard of Pep&Co, not did I realise there was a store just a few miles from me in Bolton.

Pep&Co have over 50 stores throughout the UK and seem to be expanding quickly. Their aim is to provide affordable fashion for all the family, from small baby wear to grown ups. Pep&Co keeps costs low in these tough financial times.

I was invited to go along to my local (Bolton) Pep&Co store. I was greeted by the manager Beth; who by the way is just lovely. I was very kindly given an amount to spend in store on anything I wanted which I really was not expecting. As it was half term for my girls I took them along too. Jordannas little face lit up when she realised she would be getting some things too.

There is a really good selection for children aged 3-12 years and especially so for girls. Also some nice pieces for ladies, including underwear, swimwear and nightwear and many accessories too.

It’s fair to say we went home very happy and two large bags heavier.

Our shopping trip could not have come at a better time, the weather was warm and we all needed some new Summer bits plus as had our weekend away just a few days later.

And here are just some of the lovely items we were able to come home with.

Jordanna chose this pretty summer top with flowers (£5.00) and the crotchet denim shorts (£6.00), making a cool summer outfit for just £11.00. Also……..

Rainbow cropped leggings (£3.00) which are perfect for warm or cooler days.  New York slogan long sleeve top (£5.00) and a cap sleeve Miami t – shirt.

Izebella was also happy to pick a few items that she liked (yes she loves shopping too!)

The cropped legging cost just £2.50 along with the two t-shirts at just £1.50 each. There are many other t-shirt designs in store.

The pretty pink jeans are just £4.00 as is the princess t-shirt.

She spotted these My little pony pyjamas and fell in love wit them so I just had to get them. This set is £6.00.

And of course with new outfits they need new shoes too. Pep&Co does a nice selection of Summer shoes and sandals and even boots as Jordanna discovered.

Izebella even got some new frozen underwear and both girls got a few cute accessories including sunglasses, bobbles, bags and a brolly.

The two black bags you see were actually on the sale rail on BOGOF free offer. Each one also reduced to just £2.00 from £4.00. Meaning they would of cost just £1.00 each. Perfect for little girls and I may just be borrowing one on my next night out too. I love the fishtail hair bobbles. They tie in like a regular bobble and dangle like a colourful braid, these come in many colours and cost £1.25 each.

My girls are loving all their new items. Of course I had to get a few things for myself too, such as some new tops, underwear and accessories.

The three tops, one of which I am wearing now; cost £4-£7 each one. The pyjama set just £5.00. The bag was reduced to just a fiver and I use it everyday. The sunglasses just a pound or two each too.

After all that clothes shopping we were all feeling a little hungry and even managed get some sweets from the store too.

The shop is really good for inexpensive clothing and accessories. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. Everything is set out in sections, being baby, girls, boys, women’s and men’s with accessories found inbetween making everything all really easy to find. We loved our morning at Pep&Co Bolton.

Easter at Hotel Chocolat

Published March 18, 2016 by Bizzimummy

It’s just over a week to go until the chocolate eggs and bunnys all come out. Easter certainly comes early this year and even earlier for me.

My favourite chocolatiers have once again made me my quite happy with the arrival of their Easter goody bag.

As always with Hotel Chocolat products the packaging is top notch luxury. This goody bag resembles one of those high class shopping bags and is of course packed full of chocolate goodies.

As its Easter there are lots of bunnys in this, 9 in total split amongst 2 packs. The 6 pack are the city caramel bunnies and then a 3 pack of milk chocolate bunnies

There is of course some small eggs too, known as egglets. These are in a delicious raspberry flavour and in a little gift bag type thing. Some of these eggs come wrapped and some unwrapped.

The Chocolate slab in salted caramel was the first thing I ate and loved it, tho I would of liked it to be a big bigger. My overall favourite from this goody bag are the trio of pralines. Unfortunately only 3 but I loved each one. Very creamy and indulgent.

I have really enjoyed this goody bag, I did not save it for Easter as it was just too good. It costs £18.00 and Hotel Chocolat also have a lovely selection of Easter eggs and other yummy  Easter treats. The goody bag contents can also be purchased separately too in larger quantities for next time.

World book day with Asda

Published February 26, 2016 by Bizzimummy

World book day is almost upon us yet again. Some parents love it, many dread it. Yet more costumes to buy or even make. I am hopeless at making anything and having 3 costumes to buy can be pricey so I was very happy when Asda got in touch about their costume selection in time for world book day.

World book day is about celebrating books and characters from books. It is quite sad and probably disappointing for the teachers too when a hundred Elsas or Annas from frozen turn up or perhaps a fair few sponge bobs or minions. Whilst there may now be books with the modern Frozen story and the odd minions album, none of these started out as books and therefore probably not what schools really have in mind when it comes to characters from books. It’s a shame some of the older and more classic book characters have become overlooked.

Whilst Asda of course sells Frozen costumes (along with everywhere else) and a fair few other tv characters, they also have a brand new selection of more classic kids book character costumes. Here’s just a few of them.

I was kindly asked to choose costumes for my children. I felt like a big kid at Christmas making the choices for them and they all seem really happy with what I chose. We didn’t have world book day when I was younger or at least I don’t remember it and costumes such as these were not as available and probably more expensive to buy than nowadays. Asda seem to have a really good selection.

I only received the outfits yesterday and therefore this is a fairly fast review in time for weekend when most parents consider going out to get them.

Izebella attends school nursery and for her I chose Alice in Wonderland

She is a little young to be familiar with the story but we do have a few books of both the Alice adventures. It comes with a headband and a little carry purse in the design of the clock.

Now I don’t mean to brag or boast but I think she looks adorable in this and the blue really seems to suit her. The above pic still has the tags on as she could not wait to try it on. Here is one without both tags and dummy.

And the back!

I think Izebella will be very happy wearing and showing off in this next week.

Continuing with the fairytale heroines we have Snow White for Jordanna. It’s a story she loves and like Alice in Wonderland the story goes back to the turn on the 1900s possibly before and it’s a story every child knows.

This dress is quite long and it’s a 9-10 years. Jordanna is 8 but it’s not so long that she’s tripping over it and could easily be slightly tucked up a little. It also comes with a red headband.

So now I have two gorgeous little princesses for world book day.

Finally Ryan. Ryan is at high school now and so far I am unsure what, if anything they are doing for world book day. Ryan is part of the school council and is wanting to suggest that his year (year 7) dress up for it. Hopefully they will and he will also get to wear his costume. It’s Willy Wonka from the famous Roald Dahl book – Charlie and the chocolate factory.
And here he is looking rather smart.

It’s a 3 piece costume with the big hat, pants and the top which combines the shirt, jacket and tie. Size 11/12 and a perfect fit for him plus smiles all round.

The children’s costumes vary in price and cost slightly more the bigger the size. The majority cost between £10-£15. Adult costumes are also available too. Alll the costumes I revieced are all good quality and I am sure they will get plenty of wear long past world book day.

Father’s Day gifts: Scruffs

Published June 17, 2015 by Bizzimummy

With Father’s Day being just days off, many ladies across the country may well be panicking and wondering what to buy that awkward man in their life.

Scruffs is better known for selling workwear/ safety wear and accessories but also has a selection of gifts for Father’s Day and all under £20.

Watches seem a firm favourite for men and even if he already has one then it’s fine. A bit like women and shoes they can never have too many.

This watch is just £19.99 and also comes in black. It’s quite sporty looking with a digital clock, alarm, date , compass etc and comes in its own presentation box.

I think this would make a perfect gift, perhaps for the younger dad.

And maybe a T-shirt too which of course make very easy dad buys. Depending of course if you know Dads size.

This is the Scruffs authentic T-shirt bearing the Scruffs logo. It’s only £11.95 and comes in 2 colours and various sizes. I chose the small size because I don’t have a man or Dad in my life and was thinking maybe Ryan could have it. However even the small size is very generous and far too big for him just yet. So therefore it’s down to me to try it out.

It’s quite baggy on myself too but I guess it would be being a man top.

Scruffs offer free delivery on all orders and still plenty of time to get those Father’s Day gifts.
