Staccups – cup stacking can be fun

Published October 19, 2017 by Bizzimummy

If I told you I had a game which was all about stacking cups then most of you would think it was boring. I did too when I first heard about it, I mean what’s fun about piling cups together right!

Well it just so happens that this game can actually be lots of fun and bring lots of laughs.

It’s possibly one of the most basic games I have come across. No board, no dice, no batteries etc. The box contains 32 small cups and a plastic device which changes colours. It doesn’t even come with an instruction sheet as the instructions fit on the back of the box.

Gameplay – It’s easy just stack your cups before other players. Well maybe not quite as easy as it sounds. See these cups cause confusion. The cup has two colours, one main colour and a top colour. When stacking, the top colour of the last placed cup determines the next. The 32 cups get divided between up to four players. Each player arranges their cups in stacks and tries to match the main colour of one of their cups with the last top colour.

Confused? Well watch this and you’ll hopefully get the idea.

And that’s just with two of us playing. More players equals more frustration along with laughs as other players block you by placing their cup first and thus changing the playing colour.

There are a few other ways to play. It can even be played solo using a timer. It’s different every time and the winning player is the one who stacks all their cups correctly first.

This game has really surprised me as I really did not think it would be any good when I first heard the description. I can imagine it being a great hit on Christmas Day for all the family, especially so when the spirits start to flow.

It costs around £19.99, cheaper in some stores and released by University Games.

Treat Factory

Published October 17, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Treat Factory is the place of childhood dreams. An absolute heaven for lovers of sweets and treats with an added retro look that will take you back to the times of sticky hands and faces. This amazing place is sure to put some smiles on faces small and large this Christmas.

Remember these?

Our very own pick n’ mix sweet shop in our own home. It comes with so many old style retro sweets, all of which get put into individual containers. It even comes with sweet bags and a sweet picker.

A selection of shaped lollies that remind me of big sugar dummies. We had the unicorn lollipop. I gave this to Izebella on her birthday and a week later she is still sucking on it.

Yes it’s sweet and sugary and not so healthy, but it’s a treat and not something I will be giving her all the time.

Izebella has an annoying habit of putting things in her mouth and chewing them, this includes small toys and pens/pencils. Well here are some pencils that she can munch on without me worrying too much.

Chewy candy pencils, in lots of yummy fruity flavours. Squishy and jelly like these went very quickly in this house.

Now everyone has heard or tried jelly bears. Those fruity little jelly sweets, shaped like little bears. Well I bet not everyone has seen a giant one like this.

This jelly bear is huge. It packs some weight too. My kids thought it was rather hilarious at how much this sweet weighed. Strawberry jelly on top with a white fluffy texture underneath.

He weighs a whopping 400g and is part of the “giant sweets” product selection. He certainly is not meant for one person to eat themselves (although many may try). He’s a tough cookie to cut too, knives won’t touch him, a pizza slicer is what’s required if the giant bear is to be shared. He’s not just big, he’s also very thick and juicy.

Treat factory products can be purchased online and from a variety of stores around the UK.

Little Tikes Swim to me Puppy

Published October 13, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Little Tikes are probably better known for their larger outdoor toys and ride on’s, but they also have a selection of smaller indoor toys too. Just like this adorable puppy.

This cute little dude comes with the goggles, a lead and its own little birth certificate.

Puppy needs batteries, he walks on the lead and walks alone. Who needs a real puppy when you can have this one?

But the best thing about this puppy is that he also goes in water. He loves the water and will kick his legs as soon as his puppy sensors feel the water. I was really worried that putting the puppy in the water would ruin the batteries and stop him from working, after all batteries and water just don’t work together do they? I did not need to worry, because puppy works fine after being in the bath, and a bath full of foamy bubbles too.

I’m not sure if he’s meant for bubble bath, but he worked fine straight after. He wouldn’t turn off until his sensors were completely dry and so ends up walking off the wet around the bathroom, which Izebella finds hilarious. He is quickly dried off with a towel. His sensors are at the front, located under his collar and special button. It’s these that need to be dry or he will just keep on walking thinking he’s still in the water.

Izebella loves her new Swim to Me Puppy, she just couldn not wait to put him in the bath with her. I was really surprised that puppy was fine in the bath, despite it being full of bubbles. There was zero water inside the puppy device, it’s quite baffling how it works in the water as the battery compartment and cover seem the same as any other toy.

Swim to me Puppy costs between £25-£30 at most toy stores.

Beautiful puzzles from Crocodile Creek

Published October 13, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Izebella loves doing jigsaws and puzzles and she’s really good and fast at doing them. She also loves anything considered girly, think fairies, castles, unicorns etc. So imagine her delight when she got a box of puzzles with many of her favourite themes on them.

Her new puzzles come from Crocodile Creek who are American based. They sell many unusual puzzles, games and toys and a large range of their items are available via Amazon.

What makes these puzzles stand out the most I think, is the boxes they come in. Just look how pretty this one is.

This one immediately caught my eye. It is a 36 piece floor puzzle with large puzzle pieces. Izebella found it quite easy but she loves the image so makes it over and over again. It is called the “Flower Princess” and retails around £10.00.

Equally as pretty is the Ballerina puzzle. Again the box stands out immediately. It isn’t the standard square or recatangle puzzle box and the colours are just so bold. The puzzles look almost vintage or retro.

Finally a very special box, combining a princess puzzle and pop out playset with figures and a tower.

It’s the box upon a time princess palace set.

This is just adorable as it’s so much more than just doing a jigsaw, and again Just look at the lovely (and very strong) box. This is not one of those puzzle boxes that will fall apart after a few weeks.

All these figures are waiting inside to be played with, along with a castle tower. When finished playing it can all easily be stored back in the box. This costs slightly more than the floor puzzles above but little girls who love princesses will love this.

These puzzles were sent to us via Bertoy.

Make Christmas 2017 special with Kinder chocolate

Published October 11, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Kinder is the well known kids confectionery brand by Fererro. Ferrero being the 4th largest player in the global confectionery market. Kinder are most known for their kinder eggs which I have been around for as long as I can remember. Kinder chocolate has its own unique milky taste which is certainly identifiable once tasted. As well as those chocolate eggs with mini toys inside, Kinder now has a selection of festive stocking fillers and pre Xmas goodies.

For getting children in the festive spirit, nothing quite beats an advent calendar. Especially not one full of melt in the mouth mini kinder bars.

Kinder even have a letter to Santa kit too. This could be given with the advent calendar at the beginning of December. The kit contains writing paper, stickers and an addressed envelope to Santa’s grotto. It also includes 8 kinder bars.

Kinder has a fair few products to be used as stocking fillers or even small gifts for relatives and friends children. These include Kinder surprise Christmas eggs, bar packs, tubes, baskets, chocolate figures and even a Kinder mini fluffy toy gift set.

All of these yummy Kinder products will be in stores and supermarkets this month. Products will vary per store. These festive chocolate products range in price from just one pound to just under £8.00 each.

More kinder Christmas treats can be found on the Fererro website.

Elves behavin’ badly

Published October 9, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Little do my three imps know, but the elves have already made an early and very sneaky appearance in this house. In fact they have been creeping around daily, up to all sorts of mischief, stealing biscuits, moving things etc. However today they was not so clever because look what I caught on camera.

Look at them, looking like butter wouldn’t melt, very mischievous faces.

The elves have actually been sent here by Santa Clause for one particular reason. That reason is to be Santas eyes and ears and keep a check on the three imps who live here. It is a little too early for them to show themselves to children just yet, but they are good at hiding and are always watching. Ready to report back to Santa to say who’s been naughty and nice.

The elves come in many forms, shapes, sizes, soft, tough, bendable, hangable etc and yes they sit on shelves too.

hmm now what’s he up to?

And they just had to bring their sleigh too didn’t they! Lots of naughty play in this thing.

And yes of course it makes a beautiful Christmas ornament, that’s if the elves keep still long enough.

Or maybe not!

Now these elves have their own elf language but unfortunately us humans cannot hear it. It’s a special language and voice that only elves and fairies can hear. Therefore the elves need another way to communicate with us humans. And so they bought this with them!

Did I mention they are also very clever??

Oh dear. I’m not sure who elf means here, but it looks like someone is not in Santas good list this time round, Oops!

Well maybe if we create a new elf and make it come to life with this little kit, the elves may just change their minds about the naughty list.

And it seems one of our elves boug their little elf baby along too. Baby elf is so cute.

Well it seems our new Elf family is here to stay, at least until Christmas Eve. They will be making a full appearance around the end of November and will be scattered around our home, moving around daily and watching us all like hawks.

The Elves behavin’ badly magic is well and truly here.

Choc affair: good for a cold Winter night

Published October 6, 2017 by Bizzimummy

The October chill is kicking in quickly and there is only one perfect warning drink for those cold Winter nights and freezing frosty mornings – hot chocolate of course!

Luxury milky flavoursome hot chocolate that is, like these One shot mini tins from Choc Affair. In this little gift pack there are three tins of hot chocolate, all of which can be purchased as individual larger tins.

The hot chocolate is best made with steaming hot milk, then allowed to cool. My favourite is the salted caramel but they are delicious in there own way.

I was slightly baffled by the instructions. It tells me to use the whole tin in one drink? Or at least I think it means that. However I used less than a third of the tin for one cup of milk and the flavour is very rich, so I certainly don’t think they are meant as one drink tins.

And look what else we have from Choc Affair!

This is also a gift set but it’s chocolate pieces called Dinky Dots. These are disc shaped, a bit like buttons and again in three mini tin varieties.

Aimed more towards dinky people obviously but good for us big people too and perfect together with the hot chocolate.

Both gift sets cost £6.75 each, buy direct from Choc affair .

Sleepzzz Until Birthday Buddy

Published September 21, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Two weeks today and my youngest Izebella turns a big five. When this blog first started she was just 6 months old. She is growing up way too quick and very much looking forward to her birthday and special party. The presents bought, outfit bought and now it’s just the waiting. She’s been asking everyday for weeks “how long until my birthday?” and gets a little frustrated when I’ve told her not for a few weeks.

Yesterday she had a special delivery of a birthday buddy which is part of the Ackerman Sleepzzz Until product line.

This is a very special buddy bear who can take some of the frustration of waiting away. Birthday buddy comes as both a girl and a boy. In the box is the special buddy bear, a countdown calendar and stickers.

The calendar which can be hung or stood up has a 14 day tear off countdown. The 14 days prior is when most children start getting really excited thinking about their birthday. Each day Izebella can tear off one of the pages revealing a number less each time. This can also help with important number recognition too. Each number sheet also has a space to record what Izebella has done on each day and she can be rewarded with a sticker a day until her birthday.

Yes just like those Christmas elves, our birthday buddy will be closely watching Izebella up until her birthday to make sure she behaves, if she wants her presents that is!

So it also helps with behaviour, in Izebellas case I know it will as she was good as gold last year when the elves made an appearance so this is a similar thing for her.

Birthday buddy is also good for hugs. Our girl version which is now named Lucy even comes with a removeable dress.

They cost about £19.95 and Christmas versions are also available.

NIKKO VelociTraX

Published September 18, 2017 by Bizzimummy

With less than one hundred days left until Santa makes his worldwide trip, it’s now the time of year when many parents consider what to buy or even ask their beloved children what they want.

A popular one for boys over the years has been remote control cars or other RC vehicles . They come in many forms to suit most budgets. Some being great, others falling apart within weeks.

We have been having lots of fun with one RC viechle model and that’s the NIKKO Velocitrax from Toy State.

The veichle resembles something inbetween a car and a tank. It comes in orange and green colour choices. In the box is the Velocitrax machine along with the remote control. The good thing is that all batteries come included in the box too.

The car has a rechargeable battery, charged by an included adaptor.

Velocitrax is one of the better well designed RC cars. It is designed to go over most terrains meaning it can be played with inside and out.

It is rapid with an impressive 9mph speed. This may not sound fast but when you consider the size of the thing at that speed! Yes we need to make sure no toes, fingers or valuables are in its way.

The controller is basic. Two buttons, right and left. Each one controlling one side of the cars tracks. The buttons can be pressed to go forward and backwards only so nothing complicated. Pressing just one button will make the car spin rapidly. Pressing them both together makes it go forwards or backwards.

This is us, testing it out inside and getting used to just how fast this thing is.

And yes it even works on a thick carpet too without problems, many RC cars won’t budge on it.
It is certainly much better when used outside, and also much safer for ourselves, our furniture and our feet. It goes over anything, be it mud, stones, leaves, sand, even water and snow (tho we have not tested it on water yet)

It tends to flip a lot when it hits and obstruction and sometimes needs turning the right way so again this is why I’d recommend more outdoor use than indoor.

With a fast speed and a huge 40m range, who wouldn’t want one of these in their Christmas sack. Be it boys, big boys and even big girls, this is one RC toy that I would highly recommend. Just watch those fingers, toes and pets on first use.

This toy comes with an age guide of 8 years and over, meaning it’s not suitable for younger children or toddlers. There are no small parts but the car is very fast and can easily injure a smaller child.

This seems to be available in the majority or toy and gift stores including Smyths, menkind, Argos and Amazon. Prices seem to vary between £39.99 – £49.99.

Tsum tsums for Xmas

Published December 22, 2016 by Bizzimummy

Izebella received a little package the other day right before Christmas containing more loveable collectable figures called Tsum Tsums which is pronounced Zoom zooms.

She already had a few of them from the first series release and now has some from the new series 3.

The series 3 figures come with a metallic shine and again all based on Disney characters. There are four in her pack but one is hidden and a bit of a surprise for her to find.

The Tsum Tsum tin is actually a special edition Christmas product. A really nice touch which contains 6 more Tsum tsums inside. These are all pretty recognisable well known characters too.

The tin is a lovely bonus by itself for Izebella as she now has a place to store all her Tsum tsums and keep them separate from her other small toys and bits.

Tsum tsums come from Zuru toys and can be purchased from most toy stores and Amazon. They start from about £5.00 and include many accessories and pack sizes.
