Churchill’s retro tins for Christmas

Published November 30, 2017 by Bizzimummy

I love my tins from Churchill’s confectionery and especially so at this time of year. If you’re reading this and are not familiar with the Churchill’s brand then take a look at their website. The majority of their confectionery products come in special highly decorative tins which makes them more unique than the rest. Festive, flowers, Art Deco and fairground are just a few of the themes on the tins.

This Christmas we are going all retro on the tins, with a touch of the USA too. I am amazed at just how realistic these tins look.

These tins resemble retro American gas pumps. They look really authentic and if i didn’t know better, I would never guess there is confectionery inside them.

Not one, but two big bags of creamy English toffees all in golf wrapping. The toffees are delightful and the tins reusable. Once the toffees are gone they can be used to store other things or just put out on display.

These retro phone booths don’t have a load of wires or change inside, but instead are full of cookies.

These look fab placed on a kitchen unit or table as everyone asks what they are? No one suspects that cookies are inside. They even have an attached little retro phone too.

Plus many other features of old retro style phone booths like the coin slots, coin return and the phone maintenance door ar the bottom.

And of course the cookies taste lovely too.

All of these retro tins and many other themed tins from Churchill’s confectionery would make amazing unique and very festive gifts for anyone young or old this Christmas

Churchill’s products can be purchased from their online shop, their London store, Amazon and a selection of other stores across the UK.

Byron bay cookies

Published June 6, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Yummy just yummy!

You may recognise the cookie logo or may have even seen these cookies in restaurants and cafes. They are actually sold worldwide and the name says it all about where they first began!  Australia’s very own Byron Bay of course in the oven of Maggi Miles and Gary Lines. The founders of these delicious Byron Bay cookies.

All cookies taste different whether bought in a supermarket, online or made yourself. Each has its own unique taste and shape which is all down to the ingredients and method.

Byron bay cookies also have their own uniqueness in taste and appearance. Firstly they come really chunky and thick yet have a crumbly softness when eaten. They come five varieties to suit many tastes and all of them are gluten free.

Yes these are perfect after a busy day when you just need to sit down and chill with a nice hot drink and a deliciously sweet crumbly cookie.

These cookies can be found in various food places and can be purchased from Amazon and a few other retailers listed here. Definitely worth a try. These are scrumptious!

Custom cookies

Published February 9, 2016 by Bizzimummy

Everyone is used to chocolates and flowers for Valentine’s Day. This year I have received something a little different from the lovely people over at Custom cookie. This was a lovely box full of love and heart shaped cookies.

Each cookie is totally edible and delicious.

Now unfortunately they are not taking any more Valentine orders as they have just too many to get through. Tho never fear because they bake cookies all year round for any occasion including birthdays and of course Mother’s Day and Easter are just around the corner.

The cookies can be made in all shapes, sizes and designs and even with names on. They arrive in a lovely presentation box, all wrapped up like a gift.

They can be made for adults and children alike. Prices vary dependant on what you need. I really love the valentines cookies that we were sent and to be honest it’s probably the only Valentine gift I will be getting this year. Me and the three have been happily sharing them.

The box contained a lovely variety of big and small cookies and a few different flavours too. Each one individually iced. They make a lovely gift for anyone.

Visit Custom cookie for more details and lots of cookie images and videos.

Tesco Free from

Published February 17, 2015 by Bizzimummy

A few years ago, any foods described as “free from” usually meant bland or boring and were very limited in choice. Free from food were quite limited to bread and pasta products and quite hard to find.
Well not anymore and you don’t need to travel far to find some fancy treats that are both tasty and free from wheat and gluten.

I found these lovely treats in my local Tesco store which I have to say is usually rubbish and tends to have very little I want especially review products. They actually have a massive shelf dedicated to all sorts of “Free from” foods.
The Free from selection consists of both savoury and sweet food products and I decided to get myself some delicious biscuits and cakes and put and end to the myth that Free from is boring because these are far from it.

IMG_2409
First are these cookies in 4 varieties which also form part of the Tesco Finest foods range too. I have the triple chocolate ones, well I did have, they were just too nice and got ate within an hour (not all by me tho)

IMG_2407
Smothered in a delicious thick chocolate later and infused with chocolate chips that just melt in the mouth. They actually taste better than some cookies which aren’t “Free from”

Next are the brand new “Stackers” again Tesco Finest branded.

3 varieties and each pack has 5 squares. These are big chunky squares of what I would describe as inbetween cake and biscuit. We have the All butter millionaire shortbread and Rocky road varieties and the other one is a Belgian chocolate brownie.

Processed with Moldiv
These are so unbelievably sweet and delicious, so chunky and full of amazing sweet flavour. It’s hard to eat more than one at a time as they do make me feel quite bloated, but yes these are good.

So if you do have gluten or wheat intolerance or allergies then fear not, you can still enjoy a great selection of those much loved tasty treats thanks to Tesco.

Competition & review of Bake at Home kits

If like me, you love your cakes, cookies and fresh bread; but find yourself a little useless when it comes to baking? Then Bake at Home kits are for you.

20140530-140952-50992667.jpg
Bake at home kits are a selection of ready mixed baking products. Both for kids and adults they make baking very easy. The kits come with the cake mixtures and all that is needed is a little amount of very basic ingredients such as butter or an egg. Full instructions come with the kits and they are very easy to do.
Many of the children’s kits also come with cookie cutters or other accessories which can be reused over again.
We made some delicious cookies over half term using two kits that we were sent.

The cookie mixture was pretty much already prepared. All I had to do was add the butter and an egg and bake.

As well as cookie mixes we also got a very interesting bread making kit.

This bread kit is different as the seeded breads are baked in plant pots. Yes that right, it’s flowerpot bread.

Everything is included to make the bread, including the pots and the bread mixes. Again it’s easy to make following clear included instructions.

Jordanna was fascinated at the thought of bread in flower pots. The bread went well with a nice bowl of soup. Good for dipping.
