Sleek make up

Published February 7, 2018 by Bizzimummy

Make up always makes a much wanted gift for myself and I would be very very happy if I was bought make up for either Valentines or Mother’s Day.

The Sleek make up brand can be found in Superdrug stores. It’s a brand I really like because it’s affordable whilst still being good quality and a great range of products.

This time it’s all about the eyes and lips. The “i Divine” All night long pallette gives 12 Different shades of colour along with a double sided eye brush and a mirrored case.

The top and bottom shades tend to work well together to give a smoky or slightly sparkly look. I think these colours are just fab and right up my street. And all twelve shades can be yours for just £8.99.

Continuing with the eyes, I have two liquid precision eye colours. Now I have not used these before and at first slightly confused as to what and where they were used.

Is it a liquid eyeliner? Or eye shadow? I wondered. There isn’t much info on them but a quick web browse told me I use them as an eyeliner. These can be a bit hit and miss at first and getting the product into the shape of the eye lid without smudging can be a bit tricky with this brush. It’s a bit like painting using a tiny paint brush. The colour goes on bold and thick and a small amount gives a big coverage.

These cost £6.99 each and come in lots of lovely shades. The shade I used on this occasion is surrealism.

Moving on to my lips with my “Lip VIP”

These lipsticks cost £5.49 each. Semi matte finish that gives a lucious velvety finish. It glides on so smoothly and lasts a while too.

Visit Superdrug’s stores to buy these Sleek cosmetics.

Skin care Treats from Harley street

Published January 16, 2018 by Bizzimummy

Harley street is famous for their cosmetic surgery treatments and seems to be the place where the celebrity’s go. Of course not everyone can afford cosmetic treatments but it just so happens that they also sell a range of more affordable skin care products.

This is a Try me “Stemcellutions” kit. It contains four smaller versions of Harley st ageless beauty products and it retails around £60.00. Of course products from a place such as Harley St are never going to have high street price tags.

There are four different products in my kit, all of which do different things to benefit my skin. These include a restorative miracle serum, hydro moisturiser, renewal lotion and a pore minimising mask, all of which come in a see through cosmetics pouch. Each bottle contains 15ml of product which is about half of most foundation bottles.

Stemcellutions products are packed with proven anti-aging products such as peptides, pentapeptides, fruit stem cells and anti-oxidants. It’s a much cheaper alternative to surgery to keep signs of ageing at bay.

Yes I have some very envious friends after receiving and showing off my kit.

Sleek Make-Up

Published August 2, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Well I think by now, most of my readers know how much I love my beauty bits and make up. Today I have two products from Sleek Make up. Both of these products can be purchased in stores such as Boots and Superdrug.

My first product is the Distorted Dreams highlighting palette. I have really become quite addicted to the whole new contouring conception and a palette like this one is a much needed item for my make up bag.

Facial contouring is all about enhancing your best bits, usually the cheekbones, slimming the face and tricking the eye by enhancing and adding reflection etc. Contouring and highlighting are best started after applying a base foundation. There is no set way on how to contour and highlight your face, everyone’s facial shape is different and there is lots of information on the internet on which way works best for each facial shape.

This particular highlighting palette contains five individual segments of colour.

These colours being – Anodize, Beam, Sweet delusion, Refraced and Blurred lights. This is a little confusing so I’ll just call them bronze, blush, highlight, blue and green as I’ve no idea which one is which. The colours are also a mix of powders and creams.
My face is like a heart shape, larger forehead and smaller features at the bottom. The first colour I always use in a palette such as this is the bronze colour or brown. Add the blush and then the light highlight colour. This diagram shows pretty much where I’d normally apply these colours with either a make up sponge or a brush.

So by following a picture such as this with the colours, I can easily enhance my cheek bones whilst slimming down my forehead with the bronze colour. The lighter colours of course attract more light on the face. These colours together also act as concealer to hide away imperfections.

Now of course I don’t just apply the make up like this and leave it like that. I’d be walking round like a clown if I did! No the idea is to apply correctly and blend in carefully.

My face shape seems to be more oval after contouring and highlighting but it’s really just a good inexpensive cosmetic trick, and yes it does wonders for those cheekbones too.
Now I haven’t forgot, there are two other colours in this palette, and I’m fairly new to adding other colour shades than the usual three. It may sound a strange idea adding green and purple shades to anywhere but the eyes but again these colours do come in very useful to give the perfect contoured look.
The green shade is good for areas of rosy complexion as it neutralises the skin tone. So if cheeks are too red or patches of redness then a little of the green may help. The purple shades actually help to banish dull and yellow areas, think under eyes!
The five colours work together so well, being a blend of creams and powders together and also really shimmery meaning the light will reflect all the right places on the face.
It’s like having five products in one and only costs £10.99. It even comes with a handy mirror too.

And for my lips I have this Matte Me Metallic lip cream.

This one costs just £4.99 and available in 3 luminous shades. It gives a metallic foil like finish. This colour is Rusted Rose. It goes on like a deep lilac colour which I find very pretty. In fact it just happens to be a similar shade to some interior paint I recently bought.

I’m wearing this lip cream in the top photograph above too, it seems to work really well with the palette too.
I think this make up is amazingly priced and great quality too.

Joan Collins Timeless Beautyy

Published August 2, 2017 by Bizzimummy

It's hard to believe that the legendary Joan Collins turned 84 this year. Yes we all know she's had surgery to keep her looking younger but she also seems to look after her skin really well and her make up always looks so flawless! I for one can only hope I look half as good at her age.

Well I turned a big 40 myself this year so I'm almost half her age. Despite not looking my age (luckily) I have noticed the slight signs of ageing . Mainly the lines on my forehead, eye bags and the odd few other creases here and there. So these ageing signs need improvement or covering up and obviously due to cost, surgery is not a viable option so it's all down to the products.

It just so happens that the lovely Joan Collins has her own beauty range known as Timeless beauty. Her products are suitable for women of any age but the majority seem designed for women over 30 and especially so the foundation or base products.

This is the Joan Collins First Base Foundation. It costs £25.00 and is a standard 30ml size glass bottle. You get a choice of 8 shades and it can be purchased from a fair few stores including Marks and Spencer's.

The shade I have is Warm Fair which I'm happy to say, more or less matches my skin tone.

As stated on the box, this is a "First Base" product which means it is applied first to clean skin before other make up products such as blusher, bronzer etc. This foundation gives the smooth flawless complexion, thus almost creating a blank canvas to work from. It gives the perfect colour coverage blending easily with my skin tone and covering up any imperfections – small spots, scars, blackheads, uneven times etc.

I took this selfiw pic after applying just the First Base foundation and nothing else with no filter. My skin looks even coloured and pretty flawless. Once applied other make up can be added.

This foundation also contains something called Re-Age complex, which is known to increase collagen levels helping to recharge the skin with youthful energy.

St Tropez gradual tan + Anti-aging face lotion

In 3 years time I will turn the big “40”. It’s hard to believe, I don’t feel it and I’m constantly told I don’t look it. I’m lucky to look younger than my age, I always have done tho it didn’t do me many favours when younger for getting into clubs. I’m well aware that one day age may start to catch up with me so I know it’s important to look after my skin. I also enjoy a bit of colour added to my usual pale complexion.

St Tropez have developed a product to combat the aging which also gives a gradual healthy looking glow to the face.

20140818-225133-82293528.jpg

Gradual tan plus Anti- Aging Face lotion rejuvenated cells and boosts collagen synthesis. It acts to lift fine lines and wrinkles whilst firming and plumping at the same time. Whilst providing complete 24 hour moisturisation it also creates a luminous sun kissed healthy glow.

20140818-225634-82594258.jpg

To get the best results it’s best to apply it every day after cleansing and apply in circular motions around the face and neck.
It’s easy to apply and quickly blends into the skin. No nasty smell and no stickiness or greasy feeling.

I have now been using the product for about ten days and applying daily. I am able to see impressive results. My face has a lovely natural looking glow and my skin is feeling very soft and smooth almost like a baby. I can’t really comment on the anti aging part just yet, I think this is something that only time will tell but I’m sure this product will help.

20140818-230243-82963174.jpg

I have no foundation on in the photographs. The colour you can see is the results of using the St Tropez gradual tan.

It does cost £22 and that’s for a 50ml tube which will probably last 3/4 weeks if applied daily.

Me Me Me

Published May 14, 2014 by Bizzimummy

Me me me cosmetics is owned by Lifestyle Aesthetics. They have an online boutique full of luxury yet affordable cosmetics and handbag essentials. The majority of products cost under £10, which in comparison to most shops that sell cosmetics: it’s a very big difference.
They offered to send me over some of their products and I had absolutely no idea what I would be receiving. It was a nice surprise.

20140509-131530.jpg
Well this pretty little box arrived, tied with a ribbon. This I thought was a lovely touch. I have ordered many cosmetics off line, and none of them arrived gift boxes like this.

20140509-131649.jpg
So here are my products, both from the Eye Section

First is a Sultry eyes eyeshadow trio.

20140509-131931.jpg
The palette is a trio of brown shades which happen to be my favourite eye shadow colour. I find the brown tones seem to suit my skin and tone and also go well with what ever I wear. There was no eyeshadow applicator with the palette but I already have a few plus tend to apply with my fingers most of the time anyway.
The eyeshadow is powder based and I found it easy enough to apply with both applicator brush and fingers. The colours can be used individually or blended together to give a smoky eye effect.
Not too sure how well you can see my eyes on this selfie.

20140509-132942.jpg
Of course I would look much better of on a night out. For £5.50 you can’t really go wrong with this. It is 3 eye shadows in one and if browns aren’t your thing then there are 4 other colour palettes to choose from.

After applying eyeshadow, the next step for me at least is usually mascara. Which also happens to be my other product.
Dark & Divine mascara is a high gloss jet black enriched formula and ideal for thicker fuller lashes. Read the rest of this entry →

Little Explorers Bathtime Fun

Published September 9, 2013 by Bizzimummy

A lovely package full of kids fun bathing products arrived at my door a few days ago. The well known Cussons Mum & Me brand have introduced a fabulous and fun bathtime range called Little Explorers. The products in the range are suitable for small toddlers and young children and smell great plus lots of fun at bathtime as we soon found out.

Their are four products in this range and each has a quirky little character corresponding to the product. Squidge, Blip, Splash and Fizz. They are the cute little heart shape characters which you can see on the pictures. I was sent some of the products to try with my kids. Ryan considers his self too old for baths now being 9 but Jordanna and little Izebella couldn't wait to get in the bath and try them out.

Funky Fizz Bath Crackles

This is certainly a very unique product for children. I have bought many bathing products and never seen anything like these before (children's range) it's almost like a little packet if the retro popping candy only kids can't eat this of course.

After filling up the bath you pout these in and they magically start to fizz, pop and crackle. They also turn the bath a green/ blue colour making it very exciting for my little 6 year old.

It's a shame we never had anything like these when I was a youngster or I would of never been out of the bath.

Blue bath

Super Soft Squidgy Soap

Another enjoyable bathtime product is this can of fun squirty soap. The soap comes out as a foam and can be shaped, moulded, bounced in hands and played with whilst getting clean.

It has a very gentle formula and contains jojoba oil and vitamin E and leaves young skin very soft and smooth Adeel as smelling great too.

I managed to get a picture to show you what this stuff looks like once squirted.

Lots of fun with this stuff

Happy Splashy Hair & Body Wash

After all the bath fun and playing it was time for my princesses to get a proper all over wash including their hair which little Izebella hates.

This hair and body wash smells fabulous and has a creamy formula which is kind to eyes and skin. It's a great two in one product because after washing and pampering all over it was time to wash hair. It saves the need for two different products and leaves hair soft and shiny and detangled. Jordanna loved the smell and for once Izebella didn't cry when I did her hair so I can only assume she liked it too.

There is also a mega mild bubble bath in the range too.

The products can be purchased from Boots and more information can be found here. All these products are very low priced and they are certainly something I would buy again in the very near future. They start from £1.00 – £2.99.

Lush

Published August 26, 2013 by Bizzimummy

I remember several years ago whilst out shopping with friends this incredible beautiful fragrant smell overwhelmed me. I turned around to see where it came from and there was a small shop selling all sorts of brightly coloured bath bombs and soaps. That shop of course was Lush and now every time I see a Lush shop I just have to go in and buy something. It's fairly obvious to me why Lush is called its name- because the products are simply luscious. They have got to be the best bathing products around. They are all handmade and look great with their funky colours. They smell amazing and feel so nice whilst using them. I also find when I buy Lush products that the customer service is great – always nice and friendly and my items always carefully and individually wrapped and not just thrown into a carrier bag like some shops do.

I was delighted to be able to review some of Lush's best selling products.

Dragons Egg

From the outside this looks like a regular bath bomb; whitish with a few odd coloured speckles. However inside is layers of surprise. A yellow yolk part and what looks like mini blue eggs scattered inside and right in the centre is a golden nugget part (at least that's what it looked like to me).

When placed in the bath this egg erupts like a volcano, The bath turns into molten gold and yellow foamy lava which I could actually pick up and wash myself with as its like foamy soap whilst dissolving. I could hear this magical egg fizzing, popping and cracking away like a firework whilst relaxing and taking in the beautiful aromas of this product. It is most certainly now one of my favourite Lush products which I will buy again soon.

Fun

Fun comes in five funky colours: red, green, yellow, blue and pink. I received the pink one which is my favourite colour anyway. First impressions were that it looked like a large piece of play dough and felt like it too.

Fun is very much like play dough in the form of a bathing product if that makes any sense. You can pull it apart. Squash it, shape it, make things with it and just generally have lots of fun playing around with it whilst also washing yourself with it. It has a fruity candy smell of childhood too. I have a feeling my little girl Jordanna will like this too.

Honey I washed the Kids

The best selling soap at Lush and can be bought in different weight quantities. It looks like a bar of fudge with a toffee glaze and smells like one too. It feels very soft on skin too and was like having a bath with a toffee bar. Just amazing. I hope my children don't mistake this for toffee.

Pop in the Bath Bubble Bar

These cute little bubble bars come in four different colours and combinations and contain a blend of mandarin and bergamot oils with orange flower absolut giving a great citrus candy aroma to any bathroom.

It's very generous in size too so I just break off chunks at a time for each bath so it lasts longer. Lots and lots of swirly foam and bubbles to relax in.

I am having lots of fun with my lovely Lush goodies. It's like being a child again at bathtime. All the products can be purchased from any Lush store or online at Lush.

The ingredients in Lush products are not tested on animals and products are handmade using little or no preservatives.
