A letter from Santa

Published December 5, 2017 by Bizzimummy

When little Izebella came home from School last night, she was so happy to see a letter with her name on it. This letter came with an official North Pole stamp and was from the big guy – Father Christmas his self.

Father Christmas knows all about Izebella. He knows she lives in Bolton, a place that he likes to visit first when dropping the presents off, he even knows the name of Izebellas friend and what presents she wants this year. Izebella even got her own nice child certificate for being so good and has proudly made it onto Santa’s nice list.

Izebella can’t read the big letter herself as she can only read small books with bigger letters, so I read it to her and her little face lit up with delight.

The elves and Santa even sent Izebella a few activities to do before the big day.

Lots of things to make a colour in.

These special letters come straight from The Lapland mailroom. Each letter is made just for every individual child with names, places and wanted gifts. Santa knows everything.

Letters start from £8.95 each.

DC Comics Wonder Woman Hero Light

Published August 3, 2017 by Bizzimummy

The lovely people at Paladone have sent me over a brand new light to brighten up my bedroom a bit.

This is just one of many lights and gadgets that Paladone have. They also have many funky products dedicated to the DC Superheros characters.

It’s an easy “use from the box” type product with the only assembly being to place the actual light inside the battery box.

It works off either batteries (not included) or a USB cable which is included. The USB cable which I prefer plugs into a standard phone charger or laptop and removes the need for constant batteries.

Now as you can see by the photograph above. This light doesn’t really look or do that much during the day time. But that all changes once it get darks!

Yes it’s quite bright, and really illuminates the room. I keep it by my bed, so when things go bump in the night and I start getting scared that the monsters have come in, I simple press the button and it scares them away. It also looks really cool and retro too. Wonder Woman television series is a bit before my time but she is still probably one of my favourite DC characters.

And if you want one of these then it’s just £19.99.

Tokyo Trove

Published June 12, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Tokyo Trove is a brand new subscription box. Being called Tokyo; you would be correct to guess that the contents inside come from Japan.

The boxes are quite small but will contain between 5-7 items each time. It’s a monthly subscription starting at $23 (dollars) per month.

The contents are a mixture of products rather than the boxes being based on one theme such as snacks or kawaii. There is a snack item in the box and a few Japan kawaii products plus a t-shirt so it gives a good mixture of Japanese products.

Rather than simply adding photographs to this post, Jordanna really wanted to do her own unboxing video this time to show the contents in our box.

In our box was –  a curry crisp type snack, a pen, key ring doll product, sticker, t-shirt and a cute pea shaped green case with fluffy emoji balls inside it. Six products in total although if I add the emoji balls as well then it’s more like 9 products.

I do think that the box we received is probably aimed more towards a girl than a boy but other boxes may be different and it is just my opinion.

Tokyo Trove also help local businesses plus donate to the whale research and conservation. They also have a special whale watch subscription box.

Subscriptions to Tokyo Trove can be started over on their webpage and they can be found on Facebook too.

Kaya jewellery just in time for Mother’s Day.

Published March 24, 2017 by Bizzimummy

It’s Mother’s Day in just two days and I can’t believe just how fast it’s come around again. This year is going way too fast and yes it will soon be Christmas (oops!)

Anyway I know my children have bought me a few goodies which I can’t wait to see but I have also been getting a few lovely “mummy” type gifts in the run up to Sunday and this is just one of them.

Yes I do love my bracelets and this one is a very special mum bracelet which came from Kaya Jewellery, it’s made of silver and is quite unusual as the bracelet is designed with silver balls rather than chain links which is what caught my eye when I spotted it.

There is one silver heart charm which can be personalised on both sides. I chose to have Keira’s name put on this, along with her birth/death date on the back.

The pink pearl is an extra optional charm which costs a few pounds extra, but it is very pretty.

This bracelet comes in sizes for both children and ladies. Three sizes for us ladies plus the bracelets all have a 3cm extension chain.

My bracelet also arrived in a very pretty gift bag with a silver polishing cloth. There is an option of a gift box too.

I was slightly weepy when the bracelet arrived. My daughter Keira passed away at ten hours old almost six years ago so it’s always lovely to have things with her name on,it’s like keeping her memory alive in a way.

My Silver cute balls bracelet starts at £35.95 with optional added extras of additional charm, back engraving and bracelet sizing.

A beautiful gift for anyone, anytime of the year.

Kaya jewellery have many more beautiful pieces of Mum jewellery on their website including mother and daughter sets and three generation jewellery.

Heavenly scents this Valentine’s Day

Published January 30, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Yes it almost February already and February is all about love and romance (the things I lack at the moment!) and also lovely fragrances.

This is the body & soul collection from Joan Collins timeless beauty and it would make a lovely valentines gift. Unlike many beauty/fragrance sets which come with body cream of some sort (which rarely gets used) this one comes with both perfume and a reed diffuser.

The scent – I am woman is similar in both the products so both room and woman can smell equally as good. The perfume is a fairly strong one with both woody, floral  and citrus hints, tho it’s not so overpowering that it smells like an old ladys handbag as it does have softer tones to it too. The eau du perfume bottle is fairly small in this set being only 12ml but with this, a little really does go a long way.

The reed diffuser comes with a fragrance bottle and several reeds. The reeds just sit in the liquid and I turn them twice daily. It gives a different but rather lovely scent to my room. The diffuser liquid will eventually all evaporate into the air but this will probably take many weeks so the scent will be around for a while.

The set costs about £32.50 and can be purchased from Joan Collins beauty, QVC, Urban retreat, Harrods and M&S

Hand on heart jewellery + Competition

Published April 25, 2016 by Bizzimummy

When it comes to special gifts I don’t think there is anything as nice as something personalised. It shows time and effort have gone into finding something just for the recipient. I think personalised jewellery is lovely and I’m lucky enough to already own a few pieces. The problem with most personalised jewellery is that jewellery is small, so it can be difficult to find somethng that will fit all the names of people that mean something to me.

“Until I came across Hand on heart jewellery that is!”

If you take a look at their website you may just be amazed as I was. The personalisation options on their beautiful pieces are so much better than what I have seen elsewhere, add to this; there is so much to choose from. Hand on heart jewellery sell necklaces, bracelets, cuffs, earrings, charms, keyrings and much more. Personalisation is available with many of their pieces and many come with options of child hand and footprints too, and even pet paw prints.

The jewellery is all in sterling silver and prices vary from under £50 into the hundreds.

I spent quite sometime browsing for the perfect piece, and it sort of jumped out at me. It is a Family tree necklace.

This beautiful silver necklace bears 2 pendants on an 18″ chain. One pendant is a family tree image and the other can be engraved with up to 8 names on each side (72 characters) that’s 16 names in total. As you can see one side of mine is so far blank, but that’s because my family is not overly large just yet. I have 7 names so far on the other side. Including mine, my children (including Keira) and other people in my family.

I am really impressed with it, it’s beautiful and everyone else seems to love it too.

I am by no means wanting more children but if it ever happened then their names could be added too as can any grandchildren tho I think that will be a long way off.

This necklace arrived within just 2 days. It was made for me very quickly and will make a wonderful gift for any mum or grandmother (expect tears of joy!)

I would  also like to add that the jewellery arrived in a cute little gift box wrapped in ribbon, to give that extra special touch.

And the best bit, and quite a surprise is that it only costs £45.00.

Secret Fairy door

Published March 10, 2016 by Bizzimummy

This beautiful enchanting little fairy door kit comes to us from the guys over at Interplay. Children and especially girls in particular will love having their own little fairy in their room.

Discover the wonderful world of The Secret Fairy Door!

It’s a really simple kit and does not need batteries or any sort of building or setting up.

Inside the box is the fairy door itself which is made from the tough toy plastic (I have no idea what they call this stuff!), also a fairy, hedgehog and mushroom figures along with several sheets of fairyland stickers.

The fairy door is ready assembled so it can all be played with straight from the box. The door itself is super cute and colourful and certainly reminds me of something found in a childhood fairytale. One of those isolated mystery houses that children come across deep in the woods perhaps!

The door opens up and the fairy figure can be placed inside. The door can then be locked with a small key which also comes with the kit.

The key is really small and imagine it will probably be lost within a week. However it’s more a toy lock which is easily opened with say a screwdriver or anything small enoygh to fit inside the hole.

The door can be stuck to skirting boards via clips and sticky pads on the back, or be free standing and moved around the house so the fairy gets a new place to live.

The stickers can be applied anywhere and probably best on a blank painted wall. They come off easy enough too and don’t always stay on the walls for long. There is a enchanted tree sticker along with butterflies and more fairies.

Finally the fairy book which tells a lovely fairy story and the life of a tree throughout changing seasons.

It’s a very nice gift and although it’s not something ther children can really play with for hours on end it does make a very pretty addition to a child’s room. The stickers certainly add a bit of life to boring walls too.

The fairy door costs £17.99 and Interplay also have lots of other fairy type products to keep little ones intrigued.

Beautiful jewellery from Lyliarose & discount code

Published November 18, 2015 by Bizzimummy

Take a look at this beautiful charm bracelet and ask yourself how much would you expect to pay for it?

Maybe £20? More! , maybe less. Well this eye catching piece of jewellery is a very surprising £6.49. It comes with natural stones too which make it very colourful and pretty to look at and silver tone charms of a heart, leaf and butterfly.

There is no fiddly clasp either as the bracelet is part elasticated and so simply slips over the wrist and fits rather snuggly too.

It looks lovely on and appears far more expensive than it actually is. It almost looks like 3 bracelets together rather than just one.

This charm bracelet is one of many beautiful Bracelets to choose from at Lylia Rose. They make lovely inexpensive gifts and the recipient will think you have paid much more.

The bracelet seems very good quality for the price and especially being made with stones and metallics as opposed to the cheap plastic ones out there.

My bracelet arrived very well presented in a little gift bag and beautifully wrapped.

Lylia Rose sells many items of inexpensive jewellery and ladies fashion accessories and was started by one mummy named Victoria. You can read the story Here.

Flamingo gifts

Published March 30, 2015 by Bizzimummy

I do love online gift stores. The sort of website shops with a bit if everything both for the home and the personal little touches. Flamingo Gifts is one of those stores, with lots of interesting and diverse gifts. Gifts for him, gifts for her, gifts for special occasions and a selection of cool accessories for the home. They also sell lots of lovely things for children too.

I was asked to choose some things which was quite difficult given the vast amount of lovely items on offer. I have been sent over two lovely items and here they are.

First this – Stag head chalk board.

I have always had a very strange fascination stags heads on walls. Especially in an old country pub or a nice hotel. Of course I would never dream of having an actual dead animals poor head on my wall so this in a way is almost like the next best thing – albeit a much smaller version.

It’s quite a new addition over at Flamingo gifts and I think it looks pretty good on a white wall (which I happen to have in my dining room) it has big long antlers and made from wood. It’s easily attached to the wall via pre installed fixings on the back of it. It comes with one piece of chalk which sits on a little bridge that looks like the stags mouth.

Jordanna could not wait but chalk names on this even prior to it being hung. It’s good for leaving little messages or just as a kids chalk and doodle board. It’s no surprise tho that it’s been up all of a few days and the chalk had gone walkabout. I guess the naughty elves must have returned from Christmas and took it. Oh well I’ll make sure I include chalk on my next shopping list. Buy this here for just £9.89.

Our next “Flamingo” gift is something every little girl will be very familiar with and want. It is of course “Frozen”. My girls are obsessed with it and Jordanna has been sent a very lovely Frozen duvet set in single bed size.

Both me and Jordanna were so happy to see this in our box. Thr main reason being is that when Izebella first got her toddler bed a few weeks back, I bought her a Frozen duvet cover. This got me a few frowns and sulks from Jordanna who obviously wanted one too. Well now she is very happy as she too has her own Frozen duvet cover. I imagine many little girls want one of these on their beds.

This duvet covet is fully reversible with Elsa, Anna and Olaf on one side and a pretty lilac snowflake and ice skate print on reverse. It includes the pillow case too (I hate it when the pillowcase is a separate purchase).

This duvet cover is a fully licensed product. Made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester microfibre.

Jordanna is now very happy to have her Frozeh duvet and yet another Frozen product/accessory to add to their evergrowing collection.

Priced at £22.49 and you can see more here

Mothers Day Gifts from Asda

Published March 14, 2015 by Bizzimummy

Tomorrow is Mothers Day. A day to say thank you and show your mum just how much she means to you. It’s not a huge deal in our house. I’m a single mum and my kids are still very young. Nothing means more than a handmade card from my children and I often give Ryan a few pound as he likes to buy me something small from the shops from them all.

I always buy for my mum too. I can’t always afford much but a card and small gift always make her smile.

It’s not too late for those who have not yet bought their mum a small gift. It doesn’t need to be anything expensive and it just so happens that Asda have a lovely selection of Mother’s Day gifts available. I have been sent over a few little things which arrived yesterday. I was really glad to get these right before Mother’s Day too because even tho they aren’t from my children as such, they are still “Mum” gifts and are for me so they have cheered me up a lot.

This is a lovely little memory box. It has a place to put a photograph, which I have not yet had time to do (that’s not my picture on there ha). I think a mother and daughter photo would really sit well on this for a Mother’s Day gift.

It’s a lovely little box, made from tough strong board with space inside for more photographs or trinkets.

Inside a further surprise – it’s full of delicious Milk chocolate prailines. These are delicious and I can’t stop eating them. They remind me a little of maltesers but much bigger versions, being crunchy and crispy but with a smooth filling.

On checking “current” online prices at Asda. This lovely little chocolate filled box is only £3.00 – what a bargain.

This is a bit of a novelty/fun thing. It’s the Mums breakfast in bed kit.

Mother’s Day is the one morning when mum deserves a lie in and breakfast in bed.

This little kit contains a novelty toast press which when pressed into toast will make the toast say a lovely little message first thing in the morning. There’s also some heart shaped paper napkins, drink stirrers and confetti.

All in pink too – my favourite colour.

This little key ring is really sweet. Keyrings make lovely little gifts from little ones

They are very inexpensive and always look much better than just a bunch of boring metal keys together.

Finally a radiance boosting mask from the NSPA beauty collection. There are many products in this range and the majority costing less than a fiver.

Don’t forget – Mummy’s love to be pampered!

This is infused with rich Goji Berries and gives an extra boost to calm and protect skin. It also contains anti ageing properties. Just what I need at my age.

All of the above gifts for Mother’s Day cost less than a fiver each. A very small price to pay for a loving hard working mother. Most Asda stores have a special aisle reserved for Mother’s Day gifts and cards and as it’s only a day away, there are bound to be many reductions.
