Scary Peeper: Peeping Tom

Published October 10, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Take one look at this guy, if you dare!

Yes I know, horrific isn’t he, and he’s arrived at my house too. He certainly won’t be sleeping in my room.

This extremely terrifying Halloween prop is known as a scary peeper. It actually looks like a mask but who would want that on their head? Certainly not me. The idea is to hang them on the outside of a window so it’s looking inside.

If it’s hung at the very bottom of the window then it looks very lifelike and very much like a real peeping Tom. Just don’t call the police for this one.

These scary peepers are new to the UK market and there seems to be a few other terrifying peepers out there, all of them designed to shock and scare the unsuspecting guests.

Now, this is meant as an outside type Halloween prop, or it can be used in haunted displays etc, but I have decided that I don’t want to look at this freakish face everytime my blinds are open. Instead of facing inwards from the outside; this Peeping Tom is going to scare the neighbors and anyone who walks past, Yes he’s going to be hung on the inside with his ugly mug facing outside. I just hope no dear old ladies see it!

It really is one ugly, freakish thing. Just perfect for Halloween. After Halloween it will be firmly hidden away in the loft. No doubt I will give myself a heart attack next year when it resurfaces.

Don’t have nightmares!

If your a little strange like myself , and you’re thinking you would like one on your window too for Halloween, then it just so happens that there is one up for grabs in my giveaway.

These cost £34.99 on Amazon but you can win one by clicking the entry button below. You only hand until October 25th on this one but the winner will get theirs by Halloween. You must be a UK resident to take part.

Retro Top Trumps for Halloween

Published October 3, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Is it a bad thing, that until just a few months ago, I had absolutely no idea how Top Trumps was played?

Then one day my son got a set of football themed Top Trump cards and taught me the rules. Well I didn’t really need much teaching, it’s so easy that anyone can play.

Top Trumps playing cards have taken on so many themes, from football to well known characters and now something completely new.

As it’s October, meaning Halloween, those themes are of course horror and also a fantasy pack. These are part of retro/nostalgic Top Trumps collection at Winning Moves UK.

These cards all come inside their own tough plastic casing which stores the cards so much better than the cardboard boxes.

The cards are fabulous for Halloween parties and get togethers. There are two horror theme packs. The packs contain 30 cards all with an image of an horrific scary character of some form.

Underneath the images are four attributes. These attributes are the same for both horror packs so they can be mixed or all played together if there are lots of players.

The cards get dealt between all the players. This game seems to work better and faster with more players. The starting player names the character on the card and then chooses one of the four attributes. So for instance in the 3 cards above I played the Slime creature and chose horror rating which has a score of 86. Ryan played the beast, instantly beating me with 98 and Jordanna the jailer with 68. So Ryan wins the round. Keeps the three cards and then his turn to play the card. He carries on playing the first card over and over until one of us trumps him again and the play passes to us etc. The winner is the one who ends up with all the cards in the end.

Two players can play but the game takes a whole lot longer. There is no maximum player limit.

I do love the horror packs but found the fantasy pack very appealing. The fantasy pack is a different game to the horror pack as the attributes are different. The characters based on fantasy with a few alternate scary characters include such as fairy, wizard, mermaid etc.

All Top Trump packs seem to have a “boss” type card. It isn’t called the boss card but by this I mean a card with very high attributes that usually trumps the majority of other cards. For the fantasy game it’s the king card.

He has maximum strength and skill, and almost maximum on the other two attributes too. He may seem unbeatable and so the player lucky enough to be dealt this card may be presumed a definite winner, but this is not always the case. The

See if a player draws the dragon on their play, and chooses fear factor then they steal the king card. If they choose strength it’s then a draw and all cards get placed in a pile in the middle of the players and a new round is started. The player of the new round then takes this pile and the winning cards of the new round.

I never knew card games could be this much fun.

The retro top trumps collection consists of six themed packs. The fantasy and horror being three packs from this. They cost just £4.99 each pack and can provide hours of entertainment and family play. They are great for taking away too.

Trapped Up North

Published August 19, 2015 by Bizzimummy

On behalf of the lovely Bill Elms Associates me and a few friends attended a brand new horror event known as Trapped Up North.

The set up in the Grade II listed building (The Great Northern Warehouse in Manchester) will be resembling something from the most terrifying of horror movies where the daring and fearless who enter are the stars, or rather, the victims. Having to pit their wits against mind numbing puzzles and elaborate clues to make it out alive and avoid being Trapped Up North.

Willing participants of groups of 3 – 6 are against the clock to complete their mission, with unthinkable consequences if they fail. There are two initial rooms of terror to choose from: Jigsaw, Quarantine and another Cabin Fever to be announced later this month. Each with a unique story and environment and a different menacing evil presence lurking and willing you to fail.
Only the pure will escape the Jigsaw room; finding themselves locked away in a makeshift torture chamber within the sinister world of The Judge, a prolific serial killer who has escaped from prison. Famous for subjecting his victims to a grotesque ‘purity’ test known as the Jigsaw, there is one hour on the clock to solve the Jigsaw or be forced to face The Judge.

We chose the Jigsaw room, one of my favourite horrors and attended last week. The venue is located close to Deansgate station with parking spaces outside. For obvious reasons I was unable to take any sort of photography equipment into the game as it would give away the whole surprise once you play yourself.

If you have ever played any live escape rooms or even played escape games on your phone then that’s what this is but darker and with the horror themes.

After a short briefing and scare we were handcuffed and blindfolded and led into a dark dusty room. We had to do many things to try and get out including building puzzles and finding clues and many keys, even a bit of work with a screwdriver. Then a crawlspace to get through. All this time there is a constant reminder of time (1 hour) and bangs, groans n all sorts of horror noises. It’s probably more mind bending than scary but the noises n dim lights certainly add to the experience.

Unfortunately we did not solve the jigsaw rooms but managed to avoid being permanently locked in. You may not be so lucky.

There is a second horror event next to Trapped up North called House of the Dead which I am looking forward to attending in October. Details are of course limited but it looks pretty good from what I have read.

More details on both attractions including dates and prices can be found Here. Certainly not one for the faint hearted, nervous or down right scardy cats.

The Zombie Apocalypse has begun. There is no escape. It’s too late. They are already here and you are right in the middle of the danger! Manchester is being attacked and only the military stands between the Zombies and the Earth’s annihilation. Prepare for the biggest challenge of your life, where only the best will make it to the other side. Four hours of terror will send shivers down your spine at every turn, with only your wits and the might of the Military to protect you.

Scream Park is a horror attraction at event city , Manchester and will be open to the general public from October 17th to November 2nd.

Next Thursday (October 16th) me and a very brave friend of mine will be making our way there and thrown in with the zombies and all sorts of terrifying creatures.
I love the paranormal and horror. I will happily sit alone watching any horror film but this is something totally different.
I have absolutely no idea what to expect or what I am letting myself in for. Their website is giving very little away which certainly adds to the suspense of it all.
I imagine we are going to be thrown into and become part of a real life horror movie. I am already a little nervous thinking about it why just six days to go.

The event begins at 7pm and lasts 4 hours until 11pm. That’s 4 hours of sheer terror. I hear there are optional rides at the end of it all such as ghost trains to make us even more scared.

This is one event where my high heels will be staying at home and the trainers will be going on. I do not intend to be laughed at by zombies when I fall flat on my face as well as being petrified.

Tickets are on sale now and cost £20. This is event is not for the nervous or faint hearted and only for those 15 and over which sort of gives me a good idea that this is gonna be one long scary night.

Should I make it out alive then I may just bring myself to post about the scariest night of my life.

Buy your tickets if you dare! From https://www.quaytickets.com/screampark/Online/default.asp
Halloween night tickets still available.
