Mc2 crayon make up science set

Published August 10, 2017 by Bizzimummy

The Mc2 girls are back with a few cool and funky science sets for their girly fans. This one is a great set for girls who love their make up, and especially so lipstick. It also means they no longer need to pinch Mums!

This set does not come with one of the dolls but is one of the MC2 science sets because that’s what the MC2 girls are all about.

Inside the box is a crayon pallette with a lipstick tray, tubes and the maker which looks like some sort of plastic test tubes with a stand.

Personally I never retaliated just how easy making lipstick could be. All we needed was coconut oil which is very easily purchased in most supermarkets.

To make the lipstick, we use one of the coloured crayon segments with a small amount of coconut oil. This needs melting together until it’s liquified. The instructions say to do this in the oven, but microwaving works too.

Once melted the stuff gets poured into the plastic device.

This sets very very fast so we had to be quick pouring it. It’s also really hot, like candle wax so it is best that an adult does the heating and pouring part.

Then leave the product to set. It’s tempting to think it’s done just because it’s no longer liquid but taking it out too soon can ruin it and make it fall apart.

And this is one of our finished products. A real useable safe lipstick in the tube, just like you would buy from the shop. We can also make lip stick in the palette tray too which gets applied with a lip brush.

The only slight problem for us was thinking that the product was not melting enough and needing more oil. Don’t be tempted to add more oil or the lipstick will just turn to greasy mush or be too greasy to apply. Half a tea spoon is enough. Tho this is totally our fault for trying to be clever.

Project Mc2 dolls with experiments: Camryns tie dye

Published June 23, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Project Mc2 is a team of smart and very cool girls who use their love of science and their spy skills to complete missions for secret organization, NOV8. They’re real girls with real skills ready to take on anything. Each doll comes with fun experiments so  young girls can conduct their very own experiments at home!

This is Camryn, one of the MC2 girls members.

Camryn Coyle comes complete with tie dye pens and a pipette. This experiment is all about dying and trainers in particular according to the box and instructions.

If you don’t have a spare pair of shoes to tie dye then the pens also work on a cheap or old white t shirt or even a white tea towel. They are fabric pens so I think most types of material would be ok, as long as it’s ok with mum and dad of course. It would have been better if perhaps some sort of fabric was included with the doll to use. The instructions also state that “rubbing alcohol” is also needed for the experiment. I had no idea what this was but a google search bought up isopropyl, ethanol and first aid antiseptics so I assume anything along those lines will do. The doll is aimed at girls age 6 and over so obviously it is important that parents supervise the experiments.

The doll itself is really pretty. Long hair, lovely summer festival type clothes, sandals and a bag too.

I do find that the limbs on the Mc2 dolls seem to detach and come off very easily and more so the hands. They go back on easily enough but I’m unsure if this is part of the doll design.

Izebella is too young for the doll experiments just yet so that is left to big sister Jordanna. Izebella seems happy enough undressing and redressing the doll over and over again.

The Mc2 dolls with experiments cost between £20-£30 each.

MC2 experiment dolls

Published December 28, 2016 by Bizzimummy

Just before Christmas my girls got a new MC2 doll. If you haven’t heard of these dolls then in short – they are fashion dolls but with a difference. The MC2 dolls are all about science and experiments and each doll comes with either something to build, create or an experiment to do at home.

The dolls are all based on the characters from the Netflix series Project MC2 and the four characters (and dolls) being Adrienne, McKeyla, Camryn and Bryden.

The dolls look like most other similar fashion dolls and are the same height meaning clothes can be swapped with other dolls. They are fully poseable too and come with long flowing hair for brushing. The only flaw we found is that the hands come off too easily, they are attached by a plastic prong and just seem to fall off.

Our doll Adrienne came with instructions to make a bath fizz/bomb plus the plastic round tub to make it in.

The doll does not come with any ingredients for making a bath bomb but it only needs a few basic safe ingredients such as baking soda and citric acid.

Jordanna is just starting to get into science stuff and even got a few science type sets for Christmas. Making things such as soap and bath bombs is something she seems to enjoy. That is what these dolls are all about – encouraging girls to like science too.

Project Mc2 dolls

A brand new range of fashion dolls has recently been launched by MGA Entertainment. This is the same company who bring smiles to faces of little girls everywhere with their ranges of Bratz, moxie girls and Lalaloopsy to name a few.

The new “Project Mc2” dolls combine style and science and together. Whereas bratz have the more rock edge appeal, these dolls have a slight geek chick lifestyle.

The dolls were launched last August alongside a Netflix series of the same name. The dolls therefore being based on the series characters.

There are 4 dolls in the collection. Each with their own personality and style.

The S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) dream team includes;

· McKeyla McAlister (M2) – Team leader, undercover spy and seriously into her

literature

· Adrienne Attoms (A2)– High heel lover, culinary chemist and “pretty brilliant”

· Bryden Bandweth (B2)– Tech wizz, effortlessly cool and ahead of everything that’s #trending

· Camryn Coyle (C2)– Construction queen, skateboard champion and a super impressive IQ

Even their friendship makes mathematical sense – based on the Pythagorean theorem that

A2 + B2 = C2

There have already been a few different series of these dolls released but this is the first time we have seen one.

These dolls come with their very own experiments and some pretty cool accessories. Jordanna has been sent the Camryn doll which comes with skateboard pieces to build. It’s easy and all just clicks together.

The doll can then be placed on the skateboard or in her doll stand which also comes included along with a brush.

Each doll comes with a different experiment. Also included were several rolls of what appeared to be blank paper but when you add water or hold them to a light they reveal hidden skateboard blu prints.

The dolls clothes are fully removeable and interchangeable and they are standard size of most fashion dolls. The one strange thing we did find is that the hands and arms easily come off the doll and at first Jordanna was worried she had broke it. It does go back together easy enough but seems like it should be fixed on a little better.
The dolls with experiments cost £24.99 each. Dolls without experiments are available too at £14.99 these come with distinct outfits. Other accessories such as a digital notebook are also available.

There is also a free Mc2 app for download.
