Beauty treats – Anatomicals

Published May 17, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Today’s treats come from Anatomicals who make bath and body beauty treats and gifts and they even have a small range for children too.

Anatomicals don’t sell their own products from the website but they do have a list of products and stockists on there.

Anatomicals products are recognisable by their distinct bright, colourful packaging which comes in all sorts of vibrant colours. Also their quirky text on every item which stands out so much in stores that it makes you just want to go over and read it.

This yellow tube of stuff is one of those products for children that I mentioned earlier, but of course is big kids can use it too if we want.

Banana bath and shower gel, which can also be used on hair, just like a kids shampoo. It has lots of banana aroma and my girls love it.

For us grown ups. We have huge bath bars. And when I say huge I don’t just mean slightly large. I mean this.

(And just look at these colours too!)

Lovely grapefruit fragrance and in pink which happens to be my favourite colour. This huge soap bar will last me a long long time.

And when my face needs refreshing or my make up is a mess and needs wiping off, Anatomicals even has cleansing pads just right for the job.

I have no idea how many pads are in the pot and I’m not going to count them either but there’s a good few of them to keep me going for a while. Excellent for removing make up and also act as a daily cleanser. The glycolic acid in them is an exfoliator and helps remove any dead skin cells thus prepping the skin for tanning or enabling fresh make up to stay on for longer.

Lovely products in lovely colourful packaging.

Beauty treats – Delicate owl

Published May 16, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Today’s beauty treats come from Delicate Owl.

Delicate owl have some very lovely handmade bath and body pamper products which all come made with only natural ingredients. Their products don’t just smell good; they also look great in any bathroom and being natural, are kind to any skin.

Here are just a few products that I have had the pleasure of using recently.

What girl wouldn’t want these in her bathroom?

The big pink pot in the middle is a salt scrub with a country rose fragrance. This stuff is just lovely and contains Rose geranium oils amongst a few other essential oils. It looks and smells delicious, almost good enough to eat, and I absolutely love the cute little wooden bath spoon that came with it.

The salts are really fine and the best way to use is to scoop a small amount out and rub all over the body. As well as washing and cleansing this is also great as an exfoliater prior to fake tanning (exfoliating reduces patches). I have also found that pouring a small amount of salts into hot running water helps release the rose atoms and gives a very relaxing aromatherapy type bath. Just don’t fall asleep!

Bare in mind, a little goes a long way, The aroma can be strong if too much is used as the salts contain a lot of essential oil.

These salt scrubs also come lavender and orange marmalade 250g tubs costing £10.50 each.
I love my soap slices too. I love the different scents and how they look so different to the regular supermarket soaps, even in simple shapes. Delicate Owl soap slices cost just £4.50 each for an 80g bar.

The country rose soap is the prefect addition to the soap scrub. I know your all reading and just dying to see what the oatmeal soap looks like unwrapped, so here it is.

This is a hard clear soap and the bits of oatmeal can be clearly seen inside. Again this is a great product for exfoliating and getting rid of those dead skin patches.

And if soap isn’t your thing for hand washing and hand care then maybe natural hand wash is.

These are the smaller trial bottles of the hand wash and lotion gift set for £25.00. Both the handwash and the hand lotion are also available to buy in full size single 300ml bottles for £12.50 each. All with the choice of fragrance. The lotion is lovely on dry or sweaty hands and the hand wash is great when they need a refreshing scrub.

And finally………….. The bath bomb! I do love bath bombs, I can’t get enough of them as I always use them so quickly.

Heart shaped and gift boxed and again a few scents to choose from. This one is lavender and even contains actual bits of lavender. Lavender equals a very relaxing bath, perfect just before bedtime. Each bath bomb is just £4.00.

Amazing bath and body pamper products at amazing affordable prices.

Beauty treats for me: Marula

Published April 5, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Today’s selection of pamper treats come from Marula UK. Marula is not just the company name but also the main ingredient contained in all their products – Marula oil. Marula oil comes from the Marula fruit which is grown in Africa and harvested mainly by African women. The nuts get hand cracked and the purest kernels cold pressed to release the Marula “natural” oils.

Marula oil is known to contain many antioxidants and omega acids. The benefits include hydration, rejuvenation, and anti aging. As well as a daily facial treatment the Marula oil can even be used as a make up primer, and help with distressed skin and sunburn.

This is the Pure Marula facial oil. There are other facial and skin products available including the lotions and a cleanser but this is the pure oil. It can be used alone or mixed with usual moisturizers of face creams.

The bottle itself is really appealing, dark and mysterious and leaves one wondering what’s inside. It’s a glass bottle with a pippette dropper applicator and just the sort of product you would expect to find in a high end store.

I tend to use the oil, with or after applying moisturizer. It seems good stuff so far, smooths on nicely and is non greasy. It does cost £37.50 but only a tiny amount is required due to it being an oil type product.

As well as skin products, Marula oil is also used in hair products just like this one.

As well as containing marula oil the deep moisture hair mask also contains keratin, wheat protein and pro vitamin b5 all which help to condition, smooth, moisturise and lock in colour.

It’s a lovely product to use after the regular shampoo and condition. It helps to make my hair less dry and frizzy. After rinsing it off I will apply a tiny bit more to my hair and leave this on to dry. My hair certainly feels more manageable after using this product.

The deep hair conditioning mask costs £24.00. I can’t be sure how many uses I’ll get from this one product and although good I do feel it is fairly pricey.

Bath & Unwind

Published August 16, 2016 by Bizzimummy

So I’m half way through the school Summer hols and yes it’s getting stressful, kids running out of things to do, wanting money, wanting sleepovers, money being tight, house a mess and all the rest of it; whilst also trying to fit blog posts in when I can. Therefore it’s always nice when I’m sent goodies for myself and just myself to try out and especially so when it happens to be any sort of beauty or pamper products.

I had not heard of Bath and Unwind before prior to them contacting me. They sell many beauty and pamper type products from many different brands. I have had a browse of their website and many products do seem to be cheaper than on other sites and places. It is well worth a look to find some beauty bargains.

Bath & Unwind offered to send me out a selection of their products. The three products I was sent all do different things. There is something for the skin, hair and even sleep; perfect for bathing and then unwinding.

Moroccanoil dry shampoo

I have tried a few dry shampoo products before but this is by far the best one so far. Firstly the scent is so much better, there is none of that hairspray scent with this one. Secondly there are two shades to choose from based on hair tone and of course being Moroccanoil; means it contains Argan oil. Any woman who cares about her locks will be familiar with Argan oil. It even contains UV protection to shield hair from the sun. Spray on tangled hair to detangle and leave smoother or give life to dull hair. It does leave a whitish/silver shimmer when first applied but this quickly fades once brushed.

It is £14.85 a can but I have not seen this product in shops or anywhere else and it really does wonders for my coloured hair.

Badger balm
Fear not, no badgers were harmed, or even used (as far as I’m aware!) making this product.

This could be classed as a natural sleep remedy. It’s a balm which can be applied to temples, cheeks, neck or face just before bed. It contains lots of lovely lavender to help you drift off into the land of nod. It is 100% natural too. Lavender is of course a well known sleep aid and relaxant so it does help a little if you can’t sleep.

It’s a little greasy at first but blends in, you don’t need to apply much and it smells lovely. It looks a little like wax and is really firm so I did have to press quite hard to get some out. This costs just £4.99 and it’s one of those products that will last a long time.

Steamcream is handmade in the UK and arrives in a choice of time. This beautiful floral tin is one of the limited edition tins. The cream inside is a multi-use moisturiser and is the perfect all rounder.

Steamcream has a lighweight texture that is infused with jojoba, almond oil and cocoa butter, it instantly softens and smoothes the skin on the face, hands, body and feet making it also great for travel.
The cream gives an instant cooling effect to my skin when applied and easily dries. It has a rather distinct scent and I can’t quite work out what it reminds me of. It is a product I like using. I can’t comment on the long term effects of using steam cream because I have not been using it that long and products like this take time to give any real results.

I will say that opening the tin was an absolute nightmare unfortunately. There is nothing to grip to pull it open and no space between the lid and tin to wedge much in. I was beginning to think it was faulty and somehow fused together permanently. In the end I had to use a really sharp knife to wedge it apart which then bent the tin a bit but at least it’s open now. I do think the tins need to made easier to get in as I am sure I won’t the only one who has problems opening one.

Steamcream tins start from £12.95.
I am enjoying all my products from Bath and Unwind.

Send hearts racing this Valentines, with the new Body Shop Collection

Published February 11, 2015 by Bizzimummy

Valentines day falls on a Saturday this year, meaning it's the perfect night for a night out or a candle lit dinner with that someone special. Just in time for the special day dedicated to lovers, The Body shop has unleashed its powerful, Euphoric scent of Smoky Poppy in a fabulous limited edition new collection of pamper products.

Smoky Poppy brings with it a warm and spicy floriental fragrance which when immersed in the aromas takes you to another place. Each one of the tempting products contains real Poppy seeds along with extract of oil rich Poppy's hand picked from Ankara Turkey.

There are 7 products in this collection in total starting from £4-£14 each and for those who are really stuck for choice, there is also a gift set with 3 products for £17.00.

Shower gel £4.00, Body Butter £5.00, Eau de Toilette £8.50, Bath Bombs £12.00, Body Lotion £8.00, Massage oil £14.00, Body Scrub £13.00.

I have chosen to review the Smoky Poppy bath bombs and the Body scrub

The Bath bombs come in a sturdy tube of 6. Each individual bath bomb is in the shape of a semi circle rather than a full round ball. They do look a little small to begin with and one may be mistaken to think they need more than one in the bath. But appearances can be deceptive and these are very powerful bath bombs indeed. It's almost like magic or a fun chemical reaction. To look at them they just look like regular small bath bombs with fancy black dots on them. These dots are in fact the poppy seeds and when one of these is dropped in water it immediately fizzes and turns a plain old bath into a dreamy milky spa filled with sensual poppy aromas and poppy seeds. The whole bath turned milky white using just one of these and the scent was just amazing. It's a shame I could not get a photograph of one in action but having my phone or camera anywhere near a tub full of water really is not the best idea. Trust me these are lovely.

The one slight drawback is that they do leave the empty bath full of black poppy seeds which seem to get everywhere. A quick couple of blasts of water along with a good clean seems to get rid of them tho.

The Smoky Poppy body scrub adds to the whole Smoky Poppy pamper experience. Again this stuff is infused full of poppy seeds. It's a lovely scrub with exfoliating properties and therefore designed to lift away those dead skin cells. It's perfect for using right before applying any sort of fake tan product. I enjoyed using this along with the bath bombs and was left feeling relaxed and refreshed afterwards. It gives the skin a lovely soft feeling too and I could smell the Smoky Poppy aromas all night long. The Smoky Poppy products leave md smelling like a dreamy goddess, ready for either a night on the tiles or a nice relaxing evening and the perfect nights sleep.

As well as the lovely Smoky Poppy pamper products, The Body Shop has also bought out a collection of lip and cheek velvet sticks. These come in many shades and cost £12.00 each.

One of these really caught my attention and I was very intrigued to see what it was all about. It is the Universal Lip & Cheek velvet stick.

This is a little bit of a mystery as it had no shade name on it, it's simply refereed to as “Universal”. The first thing I noticed about it is that it's a black/grey type colour to begin with and I actually thought that meant my cheeks and lips were about to be turned black, almost like a Halloween type product.

But no of course it doesn't turn my face black. It's a very clever little product which I'm sure most ladies will absolutely love. This actually adapts to the pH of the skin giving each user their own unique poppy shade. In my case the shade is a lovely pink/light purple shade which suits really well. Everyone's will be different. It's a great product.

Using this means I do not have to hunt around and try out different colours to see which suits. It is really unique and I'm still quite baffled to how it actual works.

All of the above mentioned products are now available in Body Shop stores which can usually be found in most high streets and town centres. The products can also be bought online at The Body Shop UK.

I have been a fan of Body Shop products for years. I used to love spending my bits of saved pocket money in the Body Shop sales. The products are made from natural ingredients and are not tested on animals. The price of the products certainly reflects the quality of them and I would be delighted if I was to receive Body shop products for a Valentines gift.

Glossybox is probably one of the best and most well known beauty subscription boxes around.

Like any other subscription box, you simply head over to their website and are then presented with numerous options. The subscription costs £10 per month and money can be saved by signing up to 3 and 6 months at a time and paying one lump sum at once. The service can of course be cancelled at anytime.

Glossybox Is all about beauty and trying out new beauty products. Each month there will be at least 5 products per box with 4 of them being full size products rather than just samples.

I have been sent over January’s box to see for myself. I am very impressed with the contents and am very much considering signing myself up for a subscription. After all it’s about time I treated myself for once.

The boxes come like this. It’s like a child’s shoe box size. The contents are really well packaged and wrapped elegantly with paper and ribbon inside.

With the beauty products comes a leaflet explaining what each product is along with the company and the company website.
January’s box came with 5 lovely products and I’m pleased to say that they are all products that I will use.

• Revitalising face toner (full 200ml)
• All over glow (15g)
• Eye liner pencil (full size)
• Superfruits lip balm
• Colourluxe powder blush

The cost of the products in the Glossybox will always come to more than the £10 subscription charge. The January box is a really good one for me as I was very much in need of a foundation type product which gave me that extra glow along with a new blusher. Eye liners always come in great too and the lip balm helps with chapped lips. I did not have a toner either and it’s great being the full size bottle.

Each monthly box will of course be different and the products are a surprise so there may be times when there are products which I would not use or do not like. I would simply save these products up and make my own little beauty bags for gifts and presents throughout the year. The products all seem great quality and Glossy box is perfect for us mums who love a little bit of pampering every now and again.

Best Beauty Gifts – Style & Grace Pamper sets

Published December 17, 2014 by Bizzimummy

A pamper gift set makes a very easy gift, pamper sets are loved by us ladies as long as they smell and feel good. I love unwrapping my many pamper sets on Christmas morning as I always find I'm out of bathing products by then.

Style & Grace have launched four new collections for Christnas. These collections include many different bath and body gift sets that offer a luxury pamper experience for a much loved lady.

The fragranced collections are Signature, Utopia, Spa and Puro and each collection has about 10 or so gift sets.

I have been sent a lovely gift set from the Puro collection. The Puro sets come in a rather festive silver and white gift box which is fastened with a ribbon bearing the Style & Grace logo. This particular set contains 5 goodies to enjoy a nice hot relaxing bath on Boxing Day after all the stress of the big day itself along with some much needed pampering afterwards.

The set contains a 250ml body lotion, 250ml bath cream, 2 glass jar candles and a 15ml perfume. The fragrance is White rose and Canaga which blends florals of rose, lily and freesia with fruity fragrances of lychee and raspberry. The product smell lovely.

It's great to relax in a hot bath made creamy and bubbly with the bath cream. The 2 candles can be lit and placed on either side of the bath which then fill the bathroom with beautiful aromas. It's quite relaxing and once finished I can pamper myself using the body lotion and perfume.

The Puro collection contains 10 sets in total. All the Style & Grace sets can be purchased from Amazon and cost between £5.00 – £30.00. I found the gift set which I have for £9.92 here.

Baylis & Harding Beauticology

Published November 28, 2014 by Bizzimummy

Baylis & Harding has just launched a new bath, body, hand and fragrance collection – Beauticology Fruits. With its amazing fragrance combinations, including “Mango & Mandarin” , “Strawberry & Pomegranate”, “Coconut & Lime” and “Pink grapefruit & Raspberry it brings fruity fun to your daily beauty routine!

I love relaxing in a hot bath at the end of a busy day once my children are in bed and taking a relaxing break from my worries if only for half an hour. I love pampering myself with gorgeous smelling quality products and I love the Baylis & Harding brand. I have some lovely new products from the new Beauticology range and I also have something of each fragrance top meaning I get to smell very fruity once I'm done.

Everything I have here, I am able to use together as my bath care/pampering routine. To start with I use my very big bottle of Bath & Shower cream in Mango & Mandarin. This is a really big bottle being a huge 750ml. It smells just like a sweet orange juice with lovely zesty aromas. I pour a little under a running tap to give me a lovely fruit bath full of creamy bubbles.

The pump action nozzle helps to control the amount that comes out and of course prevent spills and mess.

Whilst in the bath I then use my Gently Exfoliating Shower scrub and this one is in Strawberry & Pomegrantate fragrance. I never understand why these products state “bath or shower” as they can obviously be used in either.

This one is oozing with strawberry essence. I'm not too suet what a pomegranate smells like so unsure if I smell this too. To use I simply message into skin, all over my body and then rinse off.

Once cleaned and dried its time to apply my Body Butter in Pink Grapefruit and Raspberry. Now I do feel poor body butters sometimes get a bad rap when it comes to gifts and often become unused items stored in a cupboard. I think this one is extra special. I absolutely love the fragrance and can smell a mixture of both the fruits. The cream itself it's soft and whipped and dries fairly quickly on. It makes me smell so nice after applying it and helps to soften my skin too.

After the body butter treatment comes a Frgrance Mist in Coconut & Lime. This is not really a product I have used much before. I obviously use perfumes and deodorant and this seems to be something that falls inbetween. This can obviously be used anytime of day just to freshen up. It contains moisturisers and works to leave skin refreshed and hydrated. This is also something that could be popped in a bag and taken to work. Just like deodorant or perfume.

Finally afte all the picking up bottles and spraying, my hands may be feeling a little worn and tired. Busy hands often get neglected and it's hands that do a lot of work. This Hand Cream also in Coconut & Lime contains vitamin e and provides my tired hands with triple moisturising treatment. It helps with dryness and helps to prevent skin cracks as well as making them smell really good.

All Baylis & Harding products are paraben free and the products can be found in various stores selling beauty products. Boots, Debenhams, tesco, House of Fraser, Sainsburys and Amazon all stock a selection of the products. Prices do vary and more information can be found at the Baylis & Harding website.
