Today I turn a big 40! Unsure where the last 40 years went but I don’t feel my age at all.
Not only was it Easter Sunday yesterday but also my son Ryan turned a big teenage 13. I did him a small party with some friends and the tableware was provided by house of party.
House of party supply party wares, balloons, banners, table ware, and lots more party type items, not just for birthdays either but also Christmas, weddings, baby showers and lots more special occasions.
As it was Ryan’s 13th birthday and he’s now past the character themes. I opted for a more older theme – The Wow theme. I would really recommend this theme for older children and teenagers who feel that the character themes are too young for them. House of party also has many character type party ware to pick from too.
Other items in this Wow party theme include invitations, balloons, lanterns and confetti. The items start from £1.60 each from House of party.
Last month we celebrated Izebellas 4th birthday. My lucky little princess had two parties, one at home on her birthday and the other at Blackpool tower the weekend before.
Jungle Jims in Blackpool tower offer two party packages, monkey and lion. Included in both is the following.
The Monkey Package – £9.95 per child
One hour play in Jungle Jims with reserved table and refreshments
World famous fish and chips options from Harry Ramsdens for all children served in our jungle themed party room
A choice of fantastic party games
Jungle Jims goody bag for every child
Your own dedicated party host for the duration of your party
5 adults FREE with the party (extra adults £2 each)
Downloadable party invite
The Lion Package – £12.95 per child
Everything in the Monkey Package
PLUS: The Blackpool Tower Circus OR The Blackpool Tower Eye tickets for each child
2 adults FREE for Circus or Eye (extra adults £4.95 per attraction)
Downloadable party invite
Izebella was given the full Lion package for her birthday and in total there were 9 children and 3 adults.
On arrival to the tower there was some confusion about the party and so a bit of waiting around whilst the correct person was located. Once they found our details we were taken straight to Jungle Jims where the party began.
Once play time was over, the children were all taken to a special party room with music and games. Whilst at Jungle Jims the children were all given a choice of food available from Harry Ramsdens and whilst in the party room their food was bought to them. I had bought Izebella a cake and candle from home as cakes aren’t provided. We all did the birthday cake, song and candles after the food.
The food was really good and all kids enjoyed it. The portions are pretty big for kids meals too so they should not be hungry after them.
Once finished at the party room, the kids went up to the circus. Unfortunately we were too early for a showing and rather than waiting around, the tower staff allowed us to go back to Jungle Jims and play again.
We did go back to the circus and watched the full show. It is forbidden to take photographs in the circus so I can’t really show any, but it’s certainly a good show.
My children and especially Izebella enjoyed the party at Jungle Jims but ad adults we do see flaws and things that could be improved. The staff did seem very disorganised and not just when we arrived. I was told by a staff member that they were very short staffed and especially so for parties. The food was lovely and free juice a bonus but I would of liked more party games and better prizes especially for a four year old. Also perhaps some party decorations for the party table in Jungle Jims would of been nice and a present for the birthday child too. The children were given goody bags but again I think these need improvement. I was lucky to get Izebellas party for free, she had a good day as did all her friends but if families have a similar experience then they may just complain about the lack of organisation.

This month the famous pizza makers; Chicago town: have bought out seven new flavours to their pizzas. The new flavours include – Limited Edition The Takeaway Pulled Beef Brisket, The Takeaway American Hot, The Takeaway Four Cheese, The Takeaway Cajun Chicken, Deep Dish Meatball Melt, Deep Dish Mega Meaty and Pizza Melt BBQ Chicken.
My kids love pizza and to celebrate this launch we got to hold our very own pizza party. I was sent some vouchers over to pick up some pizzas, and here are just some of the pizza varieties available.
Chicago town pizza varieties come in various sizes, large, medium, smaller deep dish (2 pack) all with different crust types too. There is also the new pizza melts which are like a pizza sandwich which cooks in the oven.
We had our pizza party on Tuesday 12th July which also happened to be Jordannas 9th birthday. The pizzas went down really well with all the kids, of which there was a total of 14 in my house. As well as pizza we also had the Chicago town garlic dough balls which I think are really tasty and full of garlic flavour.
I also made fries and nuggets to go with the pizzas plus sandwiches, other cold food and of course cake and sweet stuff. Jordanna especially had an amazing day with it being her birthday anyway and everyone loved the Chicago town goodies.
Ryan especially loves pepperoni flavour pizzas whilst Jordanna and Izebella will try any of them as long as it’s not too spicy. Before and after the food, we also managed a few party games and a bit of dancing. I think the kids went home happy and full after our party.
But Chicago town pizza products from most supermarkets and find out more about the ranges on the Chicago town website.

We are delighted to be chosen as Puzzle party hosts. The party will take place for all to see tomorrow ( 18th August) on Twitter. You can follow using #RavensburgerPuzzles and also via #puzzling between 2-4pm. As well as our party antics and other bloggers you will beable to win prizes and join in the fun.
Ravensburger sent us a huge box of party goodies with many puzzle prizes and other things (photos to follow soon)
Yesterday was party day at the Bizzimummy household. It was all about Doc McStuffins whom little Izebella loves and we were sent over a huge box of Doc McStuffins goodies to help with our hosting.
Inside the box: several Doc McStuffins toy, books, snacks, cake, posters, party plates, cups and game ideas. It was a huge box packed full of lovely things.
Our little party began at 1pm with all the action and many photographs being tweeted over Twitter with hashtag #DocMcstuffins. The Twitter party proved popular in the Twittee trending list, so much so that it beat Madonnas stage falling antics.
In total I had 6 children. I thought it best to keep to a minimum. Izebella proved a great little party host, bossing everyone around. The first game was a rather silly one and involved passing around the Doc McStuffins doll a little like pass the parcel. Except when the music stopped, the one holding the doll had to quickly put on an outfit and flashing shoes and shout out a silly phrase.
This was followed by a game of Tic Tac Toe using supplied play cards and counters.
This proved a little difficult for Izebella who instead went off playing with her new Doc McStuffins dolll.
There was plenty of food including sandwiches, sausage rolls, cake and sweet things which we had at about 2pm.
Then another game afterwards called The Eye Test game. Which was a little like a real eye test with a chart and pretend glasses.
We then had some free play opportunities to colour in books or dance, as Izebella did.
And making our own eye charts too! Unfortunately the day proved a little too tiring for one little girl.
She fell asleep about 2.30 so she will have to make her eye chart another time.
All our little guests received their own goody bag, with toys and healthy kiddylicious snacks. A great party had by all.
The Doc McStuffins takeover can be found over on UK MUMS TV website with lots of fun activities and tips.
We are delighted to have been chosen to host a Doc McStuffins themed party next Thursday (26th Feb). We will be tweeting lots of tweets and photographs over on Twitter between 1-3PM. My Twitter handle is @Evette77 so make sure you pop over and join in the fun. There will also be some fab prizes up for grabs as always courtesy of UKMUMS.TV. The fun and games can be followed using #DocMcStuffins and @DisneyJuniorUK.
My children have been eagerly awaiting the party box and could not believe their little eyes when it arrived today. It’s huge and bursting with all Doc McStuffins toys and party bits.
We are looking forward to our party next week. Izebella loves Doc McStuffins and will be a very happy little girl.
Remember to save the date!

André Rieu is a Dutch violinist and conductor best known for creating the waltz-playing Johann Strauss Orchestra. Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra have turned classical and waltz music into a worldwide concert touring music act, as successful as some of the biggest global pop and rock music acts.
To celebrate the launch of André’s new album Love in Venice, we got the chance to be part of André Rieu’s Week of the Waltz parties thanks to the guys at Come round Parties.
Last Saturday I was very happy to host my very own Week of the Waltz party along with other bloggers across the country. I invited 6 people and my kids also took part in some of it.
To help host the party I was sent a box full of party goodies.
The party box contained an assortment of party masks, a poster, pens, chocolates, continental biscuits, a waltzing DVD and sample CDs of the king of waltz his self.
I did my own bits of party food and bought in some drinks. I was glad it was only 6 other people as my house is not huge and 6 plus me and my children was certainly a house full.
Once guests were here I put on the CDs and DVD and made everyone waltz around with masks on. It was more like a Halloween scene as the masks looked quite freaky.
The biscuits and chocolates that I received went down really well with everyone. We had a fun time hosting our party and even my children enjoyed it despite not liking this type of music.
Some of my guests had never heard of Andrè Rieu so it was nice to give him and them an introduction. Waltzing is not for everyone but we all had a great night trying it.
