Shark bite game review + Giveaway

Published September 1, 2017 by Bizzimummy
“Just when you thought it safe to go back in the water!”
🦈

Drumond Park brings us Shark Bite! A ferocious man eating shark who eats just about anything, hungrily waits for an unsuspecting hand; and then!!!

Snap!!!

This shark is one hungry guy. Eagerly closing his jaws at random, making unsuspecting game players jump with fright.

Our latest game from the lovely Drumond Park people has certainly had us all on edge throughout the Summer holidays, almost making us never want to take a dip again!

And on a slightly more serious note, such as game play and rules! Well it’s simple. 2-4 players each take turns to roll a dice. The dice only has ones and two on it in the shape of fish. The player then has to use a small plastic fishing rod device to pull various plastic objects from the open sharks mouth.

It sounds far too easy to be scary doesn’t it? Well it is to an extent, especially considering the game needs no batteries! Well if a player pulls the wrong piece and old sharky realises what’s going on then he will quickly snap his jaws tightly shut, chomping away on anything remaining in his mouth, yes that includes fingers, hands, even noses if your too close. It’s best to hold the rod at arms length at all times and you just never know when the sharks mouth will go.

Unfortunately for the player who gets caught out, they have to put back all their previously caught objects and start from zero. This is what keeps the game going for longer as there are only 12 pieces to be hooked out.

The winner is the player with the most pieces once all the pieces have been fished out.

This is a combination of one of those old retro magnetic fish catching games combined with the old 80s spooky game of “I Vant to bite your finger” bought into the 21st century.

It makes us feel on edge when our turn is near, almost wishing the player before us gets caught by old sharky so that we have a better chance of not being. Then slowly hooking our piece hoping not to get those jaws near our fingers🦈

Who would of thought a fishing game could be this fun.

Shark bite is a game by Drumond Park  designed for families and children ages 4 years and over. rrp £24.99.

Little Brian paint sticks & Giveaway!

Published June 29, 2017 by Bizzimummy

There’s a whole new way to draw and colour for kids. Paint sticks look just like coloured glue sticks and are like a crayon and paint all in one.

This may sound harsh but I am one of those mean mummies who won’t have lots of paint activities in my house. I may allow it once in a while and for homework purposes, other than that if they want to paint then they go outside. My house is not huge and I paid a lot for my carpets and furniture and even kids clothing. Paint can be so messy, even the water based stuff. Stains on floors, tables, clothes which does not always wash out, then letting the soggy paintings dry out and more stains. Then cleaning the equipment and yes more stains on the sink. It’s a very messy activity which kids seem to love.

Our new Little Brian paint sticks seem to eliminate the majority of the mess left by regular painting and also make painting activities much easier for little hands.

The packs of paint sticks come in various sizes and we have a rather generous 12 pack.

The results from the paint sticks do look like paint and it dries instantly too. Very minimal mess on hands and none on furnishings. Obviously I still make my kids use a hard flat surface underneath paper to protect flooring underneath. The paintsticks can be used on many surfaces too, including paper, plastics, glass including windows as it’s really easy to sponge off clean.

When doing regular paintings such as on paper or an easel, adding a little water to the painting with a brush or sponge gives a blurring effect and slightly wetting the paint stick gives a deeper paint effect so we can play around with these to get different effects.

My two girls liked them instantly and ended up painting non stop the same night they got them. I very much like the reduced mess and not needing to find paintbrushes or having paint mixed up into awful muggy colours.

And guess what? these paint sticks also have another really good use. Probably not what they were intended for; but:  I recently glossed my bathroom window ledge in bright red to match the wallpaper. The flossing went well but I put a orchid pot on the window thinking  the paint had dried properly. It hadn’t and I ended up taking a small patch of gloss paint off, revealing white patches underneath. I had no paint left. I used the red paint stick to fill in the gaps and now I cannot tell any difference. It blended in perfectly and has dried to match the gloss. Therefore they have many uses.

Little Brian have their own website but sell their paint sticks via Amazon and Asda stores plus a few more places. A 12 pack like this costs about £7.25 with a 6 pack being less. They will last a long time too.

If you like the look of the paint sticks then you can win a 12 pack for yourself and family. Simply click the enter link below.

Kids lighting from Ginger Snap & giveaway

Published June 26, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Ginger snap are a design led company specialising in unique gifts and light products. There range includes lights for kids or teenagers too, many of which come with an emoji theme like this happy little lamp.

This happy smiley lamp runs off batteries so no need for trailing cables and has a simple on/off switch. Izebella uses this at night time in her bed to help keep the monsters and robots away. It does not get hot and gives a nice bright glow so she can see but still sleep as it’s not overly  bright.

The same batteries have been in this lamp for a good few weeks now and it is used most nights for several hours. Therefore it does not use up much juice. One of these costs £25.00 and with most children and teens having a thing for emojis at the moment, it does make a good bedroom accessory.

They also have emoji lightboxes too. These are plastic display boxes which come with letters, images, numbers and light up to display messages.

They come with 65 letters, numbers, symbols and 51 emoji symbols and images all on plastic see through cards. These don’t require a mains plug or wires either but it does need 6 AA batteries.

The letters simply slot in on 3 rows and you can get up to 8 of the cards on one row. It does of course look much more effective when switched on in total darkness.

You can write whatever you wish using the included letters, such as birthday messages or even notes or just mess about with the emojis.

This light box costs £24.00. If I was to make a suggestion to improve this product then I would recommend adding some sort of a slot or pull out tray on the back so there is a space to put the many letters and cards, otherwise it means either keeping the box, or finding somewhere to store them all or them becoming lost.

And if you like the light box then maybe you could win yourself one.
GIVEAWAY

Ginger snap are giving away one of their light boxes. To be in with a chance of wining one, just click below.

The giveaway will end on July 24th 2017 and is open to residents of the UK only.
