Project Mc2 spy journal

Published November 9, 2017 by Bizzimummy

If you have a young girl who loves secret diaries and also likes the Project Mc2 franchise then this spy journal may just be her thing.

It’s different to the traditional diaries as it contains so much more. It comes with an Nov8 Missions book, invisible ink pen, “nerdy” bracelet, and also has hidden compartments.

The bracelet is used to open up and unlock the journal, and no worries if my girl loses the bracelet because it can also be opened via a secret button too, tho we best not tell her nosey brother that.

The invisible ink pen uses the black light technology to display text and images in the journal, only when the special pen is shone onto the pages.

The journal is interactive, it requires batteries and when opened will give various greetings and messages. There is also an app but this is only for Apple devices (iPad, iPhone, ipod etc). The app isn’t really needed, the journal can be used without it and it’s just an added extra feature.

The notebook contains chemistry element tables which really come in useful when learning about science. There are also several stickers and space to write own notes.

This journal costs between £18-£25 depending on where it’s bought from and seems fine for girls ages 7 and over. It’s a place to write secrets whilst also learning some science.

Project MC2 rc car with real steam

Published March 6, 2017 by Bizzimummy

What a great car this is, and it’s for girls too, well aimed more towards girls anyway.

For quite a while we have been reviewing MC2 dolls which are fashion dolls that come with experiments and science based personalities. The dolls usually come with some sort of small experiment to do at home and there are a few accessories and play kits that can also be purchased – all project MC2 based.

The dolls are based on the tv series – MC2 girls.

And now there is the MC2 project dolls car to, to get all the dolls moving around the house.

However this is no ordinary dolls car. It is remote controlled but not just that. It even runs on water and has an engine which needs connecting.

Yes connecting positive and negative wires is all part of science as is converting water to steam, which this snazzy little car does. The water gets put into a little tank and then into a covered (petrol like) hole at the back of the car. Batteries go in the engine which is then connected via the black and red wires under the bonnet (a little like the real thing!). Everything gets switched on and away it goes!

The car can fit two project MC2 dolls or any other similar size or smaller fashion dolls.  The seats even cons with seat belts.

My girls bedroom is currently being decorated and they are having new beds, this means that unfortunately the majority of their toys and dolls are in boxes, so I have just had to grab the first two dressed dolls that I could find here but most dolls will fit.

The steam action can be seen in this video. Yes the car moves very fast once it gets going.

I don’t think our cats are too impressed with it!

The controller has two buttons, straight on and a turn/reverse. I found it easy to use tho as I previously mentioned the car is quite rapid. (Watch your feet!). The car also has smart blinking lights.

It seems to be a very strong durable well made sports car. However it is quite heavy but I suppose it has to be with an engine and water inside. A slight problem is the amount of batteries needed to power it. The engine needs 6 and the remote control needs 2 so 8 in total (a full packet). The engine batteries are tricky to fit in as two batteries sit on top of each other in 2 of the compartments. The batteries also seem to get really hot inside the engine. I found this out as the car did not seem to be working at first so I swapped some of the batteries and found the batteries inside very hot to touch. I’m not sure if this is meant to happen or if the batteries were at fault. The steam from the car is not hot.

Cost – this car does not come cheap but it’s a really good car and does encourage the whole science for girls idea in a few ways. Expect to pay upwards of £45.00 for the car alone but most dolls can be used with it. The age guide states 6 years and over.

National STEAM day: MC2 spy bag

Published November 8, 2016 by Bizzimummy

Today, November 8th is National STEAM day marked by the project MC2 dolls. STEAM day stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths and the day is to inspire kids to explore their interests in all of those subjects.

Inspired by the Project Mc² brand, created by MGA Entertainment, the S.T.E.A.M.- based franchise features four super smart girls who are part of a super-secret spy organization called NOV8, and of course NOV8 is why National STEAM day is today.

To celebrate, Jordanna has been sent this rather unique Project MC2 spy bag.

From the outset it looks very much like a girls cosmetic bag with a few accessories but it’s actually a whole lot more than that.

It looks and acts like a regular bag in girly pink and can even be carried around like one

But just take a look inside as appearances can be rather deceiving. The bag opens up to reveal all this inside.

There are what looks like test tubes and bottles for chemicals along with what looks like a few cosmetics and lots of drawer storage.

The nail polish is not what it seems! Look it’s a light.

In fact many of the items inside, double up as some sort of spy item. There is a blusher powder and yes this can be used as blusher but also doubles up as fingerprint powder. Fingerprint cards and instructions come included. The mirror also assists in the fingerprint process as well as being an actual make up mirror.

So what are the test tubes all about? Yes I wondered that too. Well behind them are full instructions and also a little booklet of very easy to do experiments which only need a few usual household ingredients such as vinegar, glitter, oil etc.

This is a lovely pretty little kit and especially good for the girls who love being girly but also love a bit of science too.

This spy bag can be purchased in most good toy stores and is suitable for ages 6 and over. Prices vary but around £39.99.
