Envy Professional hair care

Published August 8, 2017 by Bizzimummy

I put my hair through a lot, and have done so for many years. It’s been bleached, coloured, highlighted, low-lighted, permed, blow dried, straightened and had extensions in. So when it comes to products for my hair, I don’t mind paying that little bit extra for a product that claims to help repair damage and give it an overall better condition.

Envy products are used by hairdressers as well as being sold to people like myself who want the best for their hair. Salon products can sometimes be hard to find without buying them in the actual salon after having your hair done.

They are recognisable by distinct black and green containers just like this.

Envy hair products contain silk proteins which help to moisturise, smooth and gloss hair. And Keratin which puts balance and moisturiser back into the hair. I have found that the majority of “better” hair products do contain keratin (the ones that actually work).

I have been regularly using three Envy products.

  • Gentle cleansing shampoo
  • Dual fix 12
  • Gentle detangling conditioner

These products smell absolutely amazing. I can’t be too sure exactly what the lovely scent is, but it smells sweet and fruity, possibly mango but it’s really lovely. I was really surprised at just how nice they are.

The shampoo gets applied the same as any other. I usually leave on for about 5 minutes max.

The Dual fix 12 is a totally new product to me. It’s like an inbetween treatment; after shampoo but before conditioner. This comes out like a mousse and gets left on for one minute. This is the main repair product and boasts an amazing 12 benefits for the hair.

  • 1 Amazing shine
  • 2 Helps to repair damage
  • 3 Weightless silk effect
  • 4 Easier detangling
  • 5 Helps to rehydrate hair
  • 6 Improves styling and blow dry results
  • 7 Thicker, fuller feel
  • 8 Helps Reduce Frizz
  • 9 Rejuvenates tired colour
  • 10 Hair feels stronger
  • 11 Reduces the appearance of split ends
  • 12 Lasts for weeks

This product can also be used as a more intense treatment on dry hair. Full instructions on the back of the bottle.

The Conditioner is a lovely thick lush cream. Even whilst wet I could feel my hair becoming smoother, detangled and overall easier to manage.

And after a quick blow dry, my hair feels lovely, soft, detangled, manageable and refreshed. It even seems to be growing a little better too.

As these are professional hair products which are used in salons, it does mean they cost slightly more than what someone would pay for a regular shampoo or conditioner from shops. The shampoo and conditioner both costing £14.95 each and the Dual fix slightly more at £19.95. In my personal opinion I do think it’s worth paying that bit extra to help bring my hair up to better condition and these products seem to really be helping. I would be happy to purchase more as and when I need them.

Other Envy products are also available at Envy Pro.

Beauty treats for me: Creightons Argan smooth

Published April 6, 2017 by Bizzimummy

Today it’s all about the hair and hair care. The brand is Creightons who own a good selection of popular high street beauty products. One of their latest ranges is the Argan smooth.

Argan oil has become a very well known miracle ingredient in health and beauty and especially so in hair care products. The antioxidants contained in Argan oil can help work wonders on all hair types, adding shine and nourishment to even the driest of locks.

I have tried out five of the new Argan smooth range. The shampoo, conditioner, heat defence spray deep conditioning masque and thd miracle hair oil.

I love the shiny blue/silver packaging which glimmers with light. I think it’s worthwhile having a few of these products together as they can all be used one after another, starting with the shampoo, conditioner, deep masque, heat defence spray and finishing a style with the miracle oil. It’s like a complete twice weekly hair care routine, I do only wash my hair twice a week as it requires heat styling due to a natural wave/curl and a bit of frizziness due to colouring so the less heat on it, the better.

Using products has made my locks more manageable and the best thing overall is the price of the products – mega cheap. All costing between £1.99-£2.99 each. All of these products together comes to less than £15.00 which is really surprising compared to other brands.

These products have recently been introduced into supermarkets too, as well as being available to buy online on the Creightons website.

And my hair after using these products for two weeeks.

Vosene kids: New troll-tactic makeover

Published November 24, 2016 by Bizzimummy

Vosene kids products, which my girls use a lot have been going through a rather exciting makeover to tie in with the launch of the new Dreamworks Trolls movie. From now until February 2017, all kids products will feature the troll characters on the bottles.

This now makes them even more appealing to children. The products inside stay pretty much the same, with a selection of combination shampoos both 2 in 1 and 3 in 1, both of which contain head lice defence products to keep the bugs away. Then why my girls are finished washing they can use the conditioning defence spray for extra protection and detangling there long curly hair.

The new Trolls products are limited edition and on the back of each is a unique scratch off code . This code can be typed into the website (as per instructions on the product) and there is a chance to win one of 40000 mini troll dolls. And guess what? Yes we won one so now Izebella will be excited as Trolls seem to be her latest craze.

Buy Vosene kids troll products from supermarkets, boots, Superdrug and other similar stores.

Vosene kids, new products

Published April 20, 2016 by Bizzimummy

Vosene Kids  is expanding its product range with the launch of some new and rather fruity hair care products.

These products are not in the shops just yet, so it’s a bit of a special privelage to test them out before anyone else.

There is the Caring Coconut & Mango Hair and Body Wash which is just burstibg with exotic paradise essence, perfect for helping parents to gently nourish their kiddies’ delicate skin. In addition, the Fruity Goodness range welcomes two new products, Pink Pomelo & Vitamin C 2 in 1 Shampoo and Pink Pomelo & Vitamin C Hair & Body Wash bursting with citrus zest and a spritz of Vitamin C, helping to keep your little ones’ hair fresh and energised.

If you don’t know what a pink pomelo is, which my kids did not; then it’s a fruit similar to a grapefruit and the scents from these products are similar to a grapefruit scent too which is just lovely.

Being fruity I would say that the products are probably aimed more towards girls and perhaps the younger boys. Ryan is more into his “real men” products and fragrances now (almost a teenager). My two girls are always so happy with new bath products and loved the new Vosene range. The scents are great. We found the 2 in 1 shampoo really works as a double product this time (unlike others) it has more of a look a texture that a conditioner does and so reduces the need for additional or extra conditioning even on long or thicker hair.

The hair and body washes seem good for children with shorter or finer hair (young boys included) and saves the need for an additional shampoo bottle.

I am sure these new products will be in stores very soon and you can always visit the Vosene kids website for more product ranges.

Vosene kids squeaky clean

Published February 2, 2016 by Bizzimummy

Jordanna and Izebella have once again been testing out some hair and bathing products and this time from the well known brand “Vosene”.

Vosene have their own new kids range called squeaky clean. These products have many benefits both in gettng hair washed and clean and the added benefit of added oils to help combat and repel headlice.

We have a 3 in one shampoo which cleanses and conditions at the same time, tho as always with the combined shampoo and conditioners I do find I need a little extra conditioned for Jordannas very thick and curly hair.

This product contains blends of tea tree and lemon and eucalyptus oils to help combat the head lice. Unfortunately we are having a tough time with lice at the moment so I’m happy to try out anything that claims to help. The shampoo is lovely and foamy and seems to be pretty gentle on the eyes too.

The next product is a conditioning defence spray. This spray is really useful for managing tangles and knots in hair and especially so in the morning.

Again it contains the oils to combat lice but luckily the product has a more lemony scent rather than tea tree which can sometimes be off putting. It simply sprays onto the hair and then the knots can be easily brushed out. It leaves the hair in a much better manageable and smoother condition and is great for curly hair.

Each of these Vosene products costs about £2.54 each and should be available in stores and supermarkets which sell products of this type.

More information can of course be found over at Vosene kids.

Professor Scrubbingtons review & competition

Published June 11, 2015 by Bizzimummy

An exciting range of bathing and personal care products recently launched in April this year. These natural products are aimed at primary school children and as and come from Professor Scrubbingtons which is also known as “The Emporium of Clean”.

There are currently 5 products available which include – Hand & face wash, Hair & body wash, Shampoo, Condotiomer and a Roll on Deoderant.

The Hand & Face wash is perfect for popping onto the sink and using as an every day wash and alternative to soap.  It’s pump nozzle makes it really easy to use.

The shampoo, conditioner and hair&body wash are all in the same type of bottle and I have to admit that when I first went to try them out, I was rather baffled on how to get them open. Luckily there are instructions on the back for us not so clever mummies. You have to pull one end out and I did have to pull quite hard on one or two of them.

The product inside is quite different to other bathing products. Instead of being a thick gloopy cream, it comes out as a liquid and foams up in the hand, a little like this.

I do think it’s a good idea to shake the bottle well first before using as the first bit out of the bottle was a little watery and runny.

The fragrance is quite minimal, nothing too over powering but just nice and neutral. It contains aloe Vera and obviously free of the usual nasties.

We did get some slight eye sting when using the hair products, despite always telling my girls to close their eyes, unfortunately sometimes it still gets in, and it did cause a few tears.

However as always my kids are loving their most recent new bath products. At this rate they will be more pampered than me.

Yes they are intended for the slightly older primary school child but I had no problems with Izebella using them too, and God help me if I had refused to let her ha!

Ryan has pretty much claimed the roll on for his self and sneaked off with it somewhere, I think it’s in his bag for sports at school. Oh well at least he will smell good.

All the Scrubbingtons products can be purchased for £5.00 each from the Online shop and there is a chance to win some goodies below too.

COMPETITION

Professor Scrubbingtons are giving away a set of their kids products as above. One winner will receive all 5 products.

Winner must be a UK resident. Ends 25/06/2015.

Good Bubble

Published November 11, 2014 by Bizzimummy

About Good Bubble

Good Bubble make natural and fun bath stuff to get you squeaky clean and open you and your family up to some new discoveries too. From the superfruits that take pride of place in their bottles, to their journey from far away lands and the way it’s all put together at a family business in the heart of England. They bring you gorgeous, gentle formulations that truly nourish your hair and skin. Rich in nutrients, free from harsh chemicals and kind to the planet. Made with only the best intentions. No tears. No nasties.

I was really happy to be sent over some Good Bubble products got my children to try out. We all enjoy trying out new bath products and toiletries and were getting a little tired of the same brands found in shops. My children have 3 of the Good Bubble products.

Super bubbly Bubble bath, Smooth Softly Conditioner and Clean as a bear shampoo.

The good bubble products come in two super fruit variants, both of which smell fantastic and gave my bathroom a lovely aroma. There is dragon fruit and cloudberry. Dragon fruit is something I enjoy eating when I can get one but I have never heard of a cloudberry and actual even googled it to see if it was a real fruit. It is, it looks a little like a raspberry so I may just have to look out for it next time I shop for fruit.

The bubble bath gave lots of lovely bubbles. I only had to use a very small amount and the bath was filled with bubbly goodness. Ryan is too old for bubble baths now and prefers showers but Jordanna and Izebella love their bubble baths and also both enjoy sharing a bath together. (More fun and more mess!).

The shampoo had a delicious smell and was very foamy on thr hair. It is also gentle on the eyes, being pretty much tear free. No eye sting and no frustration. The products are all formulated with little ones in mind.

Just look at her crazy bath hair!

I was very happy to see a stand alone conditioner product for children. I do find that kids conditioners can be hard to come by and it's usually a 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner product which is just no good for long curly hair. Again this conditioner smelt great. It seem to be a good conditioning product too which left my girls hair soft and manageable afterwards.

All Good Bubble products are Vegan society registered making them suitable for almost anyone. They contain special moisturising properties to nourish young hair and skin.

The products can be purchased directly from the Good Bubble Shop and start from £3.69 per product.

Shampooheads

Published May 30, 2014 by Bizzimummy

Shampooheads is a family run business run by the Bell family.
I actually remember the product appearing on Dragons Den back in 2012.
They create a sell a very successful range of kids hair care products. The products are designed for children with an aim to make the child more aware of personal hygiene and hair care.
The 3 characters which appear on the product bottles are Annie, Rosie and Robert. The characters share the same names as the family children whom they are based on.

20140529-183605-66965274.jpg
My 3 kids have happily been trying out a selection of the Shampooheads products.

Busy Bob bubble bath makes lots of fun safe bubbles. It gives our bathroom a lovely fruity blueberry aroma and it’s tear free so we don’t have to worry about sore eyes. The bubbles are also kinder to skin being hypoallergenic.

20140529-184144-67304225.jpg

To get us really clean and smelling gorgeous without too much fuss, we have very handy 3-in 1 bottles. These special bottles contain shampoo, conditioner and body wash all in one.
They come in the 3 awesome character flavours too. Busy Bob, Awesome Annie and Raging Rosie. As Busy Bob is a blue bottle, Ryan has claimed this for him self. The bottles are great for washing both hair and body. Little girls may require a little extra conditioning on their locks afterwards.

20140529-184729-67649376.jpg

Shampoo heads also come in seperate shampoo and conditioner bottles too.
All the lovely products along with the very low prices can be found here .

Once the hair and body and washed and smelling nice and fruity clean. It’s time for brushing and styling. For long locks there is Awesome Annie detangler.

20140529-185059-67859622.jpg
With a few little squirts this will detangle and smooth out unruly knots.

20140529-185142-67902417.jpg
The spray is kind to hair as it contains vitamin B5. It is paraben free and has a lovely tropical scent. Here is Izebellas hair before and after using the spray.

20140529-185343-68023074.jpg
It even works on grown up hair too and leaves hair soft and manageable.
It has a built in heat protection so would be good for older girls who use hair dryers or straighteners.

For the boys is Busy Bob Crazy hair gel>
. This gel gives boys the cool dude wet look. It holds those cool styles in strongly whilst remaining easy enough to wash out. Ryan loves styling his hair and often asks me to buy him gel so this came in very useful.

20140529-185742-68262261.jpg
I think the Busy Bob character even looks a little like Ryan.

20140529-185853-68333406.jpg

All of the ShampooHeads products and more, are available to purchase directly from the Shampooheads on line shop. Many of the products will also be on sale in Waitrose from this month.
