Puppy in my pocket

Published May 3, 2016 by Bizzimummy

I had never heard of Puppy in my Pocket toys before being sent them, so I assumed it was a brand new range of toys. It has actually been released before and I think it was back in the 90s, or so I’m told. Now the cute loveable puppies are making a big comeback.

“Puppy In My Pocket has been a favourite of girls for many years and 2016 will see it return to its collectable best. With more than 100 miniature Puppies to collect, including ultra-rare glitter puppies, these soft flocked characters each has its own name and unique bio based upon realistic dog breeds.”

The puppies are tiny and I imagine will be very collectable. They come in both packs and “blind bags”

The clip on pouch pack came with 5 different puppies plus the clip on pouch. I did find this pouch slightly flimsy, it’s made with plastic and does feel like it could easily be pulled apart. The puppies on the other hand seem strong and sturdy and quite life like although small. One puppy can be placed in the pouch and then the pouch clipped to clothing. The clip being similar to those plastic type keyrings.

The blind packs come with one surprise puppy inside. You never know which one it will be until you open it up.

Of course no toy collection such as these would be complete without an additional play set for the puppies to play on.

This is the dog park playset and lucky for me it comes assembled straight from the box.

This also comes with extra puppies to add to the collection along with a mini snack dispenser and other accessories. It does include 2 dog bones which are extremely tiny, we have already mis placed one. This is probably why the age guide comes as 4 and over along with the small size of the puppies.

I think it’s fair to say that this will appeal more to girls than boys and especially so with the bright pink colours of the playset, tho boys may enjoy collecting the puppies.

The puppies do look realistic as per their breed and colouring. They also havd furry outer body’s and some of the breeds are easy to spot.

I can see Jordanna swapping puppies once her friends catch on and start collecting themselves.

A good idea for this range would be to bring out something to keep the puppies and small accessories in. We have lots of small toys and dolls in our house which combined gives hundreds of small parts, I end up keeping them in bags and tubs so maybe some sort of puppy bag would be good for collectors.

And if your little one prefers cats then never fear as I do hear “Kitty in my pocket” will also be released later this year.

Product prices start from £2.49 for a bind pack, £9.99 for the puppy pocket set and £19.99 for Dog bark playset.

Puppy in my pocket come from Just play products.
